First semester clinicals can be two 4.5 hour days or one 9 hour day. Clinicals typically end about 3 on the one day clinicals but some professors are better than others at actually getting you out the door on time. What slot you get and which instructor is completely random. I had two day clinicals my first semester and still did not get out until around 2 most days. All clinicals start around 6:30 AM.

Clinicals are only during the day all the way through with the potential exception in fourth semester when you are doing your preceptorship. Then you work whatever hours your preceptor works for five shifts. You will have a lot of paperwork to do the night before clinicals and even more to do in the time after clinicals with a due date of when to turn it in to your instructor, in person, in the nursing office. Things turned in there have to be time stamped - there is a time deadline for turning clinical paperwork in. It sounds complicated but you get used to it pretty quickly.

The information you found on the website posted above looks pretty out of date - it is close, but not precise.

Okay thank you!

Congrats! My name is Natalie and I am the 2nd VP of CNSA (Collin Nursing Student Association) and I will be at your orientation. I will be in my 3rd semester in the Fall. The experience goes quickly. :)

I can't wait to meet you guys and I will be readily available to any of you who want/need it. Again, congratulations! See ya soon!

Thank you, Natalie! I can't wait to see you guys and my ol'lab partner Emily, too! It's great that you guys will be there to answer all of our questions. I think its wonderful that there is support within the program both (as Em would say...)"laterally and vertically"!

See ya then.

=D

Sorry to leave yall. I withdrew my acceptance (going to TWU), but looks like my spot has been filled. ;) Good luck with everyone's career :)
