Does an LVN in Texas have to be "IV Certified". That is with a paper certificate for IV therapy/push for peripheral or central lines? Does anyone know if this is included in the Texas LVN programs? thanks

I am looking for information regarding IV certification as well and where it can be obtained. I am currently enrolled with Excelsior College working toward my RN. I have been an LVN for >30 years and have worked at a medical management company for 8 years. I am thinking about going back into the clinical setting to improve my skills and some of the ads I've seen indicate the LVN needing to be IV certified. Anyone have info to share?
Any 2nd degree BSN folks out there who moved to Texas for nursing school????
I graduated several years back w/ my BS (Business Finance) and later, my JD. I should complete pre-reqs (pre-reqs required for most US accelerated programs) either this Summer or Fall 2009. However, I've read that TX schools will not allow students into their regular BSN programs if they haven't completed certain govt classes.
Can anyone tell me if those govt classes are also REQUIRED pre-reqs for 'most' of the TX 2nd degree BSN programs?
Thank you kindly.....
