Texas Lutheran University DE-MSN

Hey everyone! I couldnt find a thread for this so I figured I would make one. I am applying for the Spring of 2023 DE-MSN program and I was told that only 20 spots remaining. I was hoping someone here already got accepted and wouldn't mind sharing their stats. I'm waiting on my 3 reference letters to be completed then I will be submitting my application.

Congratulations! I started the application process with them and actually wanted to move forward just could not move to that area for 20 months but they were #1 on my list.  The most affordable DE MSN (plus you get a BSN / RN in the process)…you can't beat it. I went with a program HPSP or Nurse Corp would pay for though.

I wish you the very best in your program.

No according to their webinar...let me get back to my laptop and I will upload the link for you from last session. I dropped from TLU application process when they made it clear that they would not pay for Direct Entry Master programs...only Master Science of Nurse applicants who already had their BSN without another obligation.   😞

Oh wow, that really sucks. I am wondering if there is another program that will assist. I had no choice but to do this program because an ABSN program, financial aid said they would not pay for it because I used all of my undergrad financial aid.

My pleasure...go to minute 9:11...she will state Direct Entry programs are accepted if you are accepted or enrolled in the Nurse Practitioner portion of the graduated degree.  😥  That is what got me... TLU does not have an NP portion of their MSN graduate degree

I got out of the mandatory information session for the DEMSN program and (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME - PLEASE DO NOT POST IDENTIFYING INFO ABOUT OTHERS PER THE TERMS OF SERVICE) for everyone to review anatomy, pathophysiology and chemistry before beginning classes cause everything that is taught is built on that foundation and they do not review anything even if students have not seen the content for those courses in years. Is this true? I am worried because I haven't seen the content of those courses in about 5 years.

I got out of the mandatory information session for the DEMSN program and one of the faculty advised everyone to review material from the prerequisite courses. Specifically, anatomy, pathophysiology and chemistry before beginning classes because everything that is taught in the DEMSN courses is built on that foundation and they do not review any content from the prerequisites, even if students have not seen the content from those courses in years. Is this true? I am worried because I haven't seen the content for any of those courses in about 5 years.
