Has anyone applied or heard of the TLU ABSN program in New Braunfels, TX? Does anyone know the reputation/ competitiveness of the school? Thanks in advance.

Hi!! Congrats!! I was originally accepted for the fall semester but deferred for the Spring for personal reasons. There is not a FB group, there probably won't be one until orientation happens! And I don't have a calendar, but I know as of right now their classes are online and they have lab in the clinical simulation site 2x per week. The clinicals start around week 6 or 7 and they are in San Antonio.

Thank you!  Also just saw your post on the Tech page - and I'm sorry that happened! A similar thing happened to me with U of Houston! But I also just graduated from UT Austin so it'll be nice to have another longhorn! ?

Hook 'em! Except not a great day to be a longhorn fan given the game this morning! (just kidding LOL) And yes ? Unfortunately, it happens. I actually just edited and decided to reach out to them personally before posting about it. Congrats on admission again!!

Did anyone with a cumulative GPA lower than 3.0 with a high Pre req GPA (3.4 +) get accepted?

I think from what I remember she told me that your cumulative undergrad had to be above a 3.0 for admissions review, but I would definitely email them/ get in touch with an advisor and see what they say!! They may be able to help because she also said they look only at the pre-req GPA.

I applied for their program and have not been able to find too much information on reputation, competitiveness, and career placements post-graduation.

Are you all from Texas? I am from CA and hope not to have too much trouble finding a good job back home, where it is saturated with new CA grads.

Hey!! I am from Texas. Their nursing program has been around for about 6 years and they have a 99% NCLEX rate I believe. Their career placement is about 95% are employed within 6 months. I'm not too sure about out of state situations but I know for TX hospitals they have a really good rep around the SA area and hospital their clinicals are at. Overall it's a great program! The professors and faculty are all really nice, they really do care about each and everyone one of their students and it shows!! I hope you get in ? Good luck!! Feel free to message me if you have any other questions ?

I have been accepted for the Spring of 21 program! I'm still keeping my options open (private school tuition yikes) but everyone that I've spoken with over the phone seems to be very, very friendly and helpful! It helps that they have a very good NCLEX pass rate.

Hi I got accepted for Spring 2021 too!

@FutureNurseBre

Hey! I just got my acceptance for the fall 2020 semester!! I was wondering if you had heard anything about a group me/facebook group for everyone that was accepted? I'm trying to get more info on the program because I have another offer of admission too ?

Hi there! I’m interested in starting this Summer. How did you like the program? What was your experience? What was the schedule like? Any information or insight would be great, thank you

Hello! I’ve heard good things about the program, and I know they recently had a 100% NCLEX pass rate. I was just accepted into the ABSN program that starts September 2020, so I’m excited to start this journey. Good luck to you if you do apply to TLU!

For those of you who are in this program or have completed the program, what are your thoughts? Did you get a good education? would you recommend the program? I know it’s expensive so just out of curiosity, how did most people pay for it? Any advice would help. Thank you

Hi! Sorry for the late response. I had a great experience with TLU. I developed a great rapport with each of my instructors and they truly do care about the success of their students. Clinical hours vary by the semester, and by the group, so it's hard to really say what your schedule could potentially look like. It was so different for everyone. Overall, I have no complaints with my experience.
