Didn't see a thread for this, so I'm making one.
This is for the 2016 THR Versant Residency Program.
This past week (Sept. 7-11, 2015) I noticed that some of the hospitals were starting to post their residency listings- like THR Fort Worth, HEB, Arlington Memorial, Denton, a couple from Southwest, and one from Cleburne and Plano. I've checked back every day to see if any new postings have been added from other hospitals, but I haven't seen any as of yet. I'm not sure when the rest will start posting, but hopefully we can keep each other up to date with any information we find out individually.
When I applied, I had to complete a one time behavioral type survey for first time applicants.
Anyway, any information you guys can share about the interviewing process, meet and greets, and anything else regarding the residency will be appreciated. And good luck to everyone!
Yay! I'm excited and nervous. :) Out of the ten that are pending, three got moved forwarded to Interview to be Scheduled. I got three interviews set up with THR over the next three weeks! They are General Surg., Cardiac Tele, and Trauma. I am planning to doing mock interviews with my classmate before then and to go over my nursing portfolio to make sure that it looks professional. Any other advice friends that you may give? They are panel interviews so I want to be prepared.
That is fantastic!! Good luck and keep us updated!!
I wish I would have found this last week. I didnt know anything about a GN reception. I have applied for several. I have about 10 that were forwarded to hiring manager but I have heard NOTHING. I also applied to Baylor, haven't heard anything there either. Good luck everyone. I graduated in May and started my BSN in August. I did notice a lot of the THR GN's were 3rd shift. I was definitely hoping for 1st, but I'll pretty much take whatever I can get.
Has anyone heard anything back about the L&D or postpartum residencies? I applied for 3 L&D and 3 mother/baby. 3 have been forwarded to the hiring manager and 3 are still under review.
Haven't heard a peep .
Women's services is the department I'm waiting to hear back from too!!
Looks like the ED has filled all their positions.

Congrats Roxy! That's exciting! I have one (for HEB Maternal/Newborn) that's been forwarded to the manager and the other two (for Denton L&D and M/N) are still being reviewed by HR.
Mock interviews are a great idea. I had a panel interview for a different hospital back in August. It was 4 people and they each took turns asking one question. They asked 7 or 8 questions all together. What I did to prep for that was look up interview questions for general interviews and then for new grad nurse interviews. It ended up being a long list, but I then went and answered the questions like I would normally answer them- and I wrote down my answers. Kind of like a script to go off of, but not a script exactly because the most important thing is to just be yourself (they're going to understand if you're nervous so try not to get anxious about that). But the "script" can be something that you can just pull from when you're talking in your interview, you know?
As for the professional portfolio, I would just make sure that everything is cohesive. You know, any headings you use are the same sizes, fonts, and colors. Same for your wording. Just make sure that it looks well put together and thought out, not that you threw it together.
