Texas Christian University (TCU) CRNA 2024

Published

Hello everyone! Applications for TCU CRNA have opened for Spring 2024. I was looking for a forum for this application cycle but didn't see one and decided to start one! I am working on my application and studying for the GRE currently. Best of luck to everyone!

Hi everyone, I interviewed today. It went okay. Definitely a few questions got to me. Was wondering if anyone who has already interviewed received the email with the clinical site form? I know in the video they mentioned in the evening of your interview day!

I got mine at about 6:30pm yesterday.

I interviewed about two hours ago and I just got it

@Brazilian nurse It went well. The whole interview process lasted about thirty minutes between the two. Everyone was very nice so hopefully I get some good news back!

I had my interview at 8am and got the email at 545pm to rank clinical sites. Just filled it out- it does force you to choose 7 sites and rationalize your top 3, FYI.

We are very similar in the GPA sense. Do you mind sharing how TCU calculated your science GPA? Did you do any course retakes/if so, did they average your original grade with the retake? Did you take recent graduate science courses? I plan to apply next year and am waiting for this years interviews to be complete before I reach out and ask TCU these questions again. Just trying to get an idea of where I'm actually at ahead of time, but thank you so much for sharing this because you give me hope of getting an interview! Best wishes to you!!

I'm not totally sure how they calculated it. They didn't tell me numbers, just mentioned that science was quite a bit lower and asked why. I did retake a couple courses and I assume it replaces the lower grade, but I don't know that for sure. I mentioned that in my interview as well.

Personally, the difference for me was classes taken in my first undergrad in 2007-2011 when I had no idea what I wanted to do for a career (and made Bs and Cs in several classes) vs classes taken 10+ years later when I knew I wanted to be a nurse and a CRNA (and made almost all As). There's a VERY clear distinction in my grades pre-nursing (2014 and before) vs when I got my BSN in 2021 and all classes since then (including my GRE which matches my more recent grades). Even the interviewer said, "Having a 'why' makes all the difference" which was 100% true for me.

I haven't taken any graduate level courses, but I retook a chemistry course and they asked me about it (what my experience with it was like, was it hard this time around, etc.) They wanted to know why I did so much better and seemed pleased with my responses, so having a story for why you're more motivated this time around when you're retaking classes I think will go a long way.

I was told "within the next week to 10days" So I'd say we'll hear back pretty soon,

Is everyone done with interviews?

I was told the same about timing. Yes done! ? I'm about to work on the hospital/residency selection..

how did it go?

I think it went well. First one I think it went really well and second I think it was fine, but it was a bit more stressful. It was mostly EI + behavioral/tell me about a time kind of questions. Sooooo excited and can't wait to hear back. It's gonna be a loooong week.

Very long and stressful week to say the least.

Fingers crossed and goodluck to us all!
