  1. I followed up with them for confirmation that they received my email, and they said they did!
  2. I asked them about GRE minimum scores in the past, and they said they take everything into consideration!
  3. Thank y'all for responding! It's nice to see the stats of other applicants. For myself: Overall GPA: 3.82 Science GPA: Need to Calculate GRE: 157 Verbal, 152 Quant, 4 Writing ICU Experience: 2.5 years Surgical, Medical, and Trauma ICU Finishing up my application. Excited and a little hopeful - we will see!
  4. Hello everyone! Applications for TCU CRNA have opened for Spring 2024. I was looking for a forum for this application cycle but didn't see one and decided to start one! I am working on my application and studying for the GRE currently. Best of luck to everyone!
  5. Hi everyone, I graduate from a BSN program in Austin, TX on April 28, 2018. I am for sure moving to New York City, NY this summer and am actively seeking new graduate nurse residencies in the city. I have looked everywhere, for applications and hiring events, but I have come up empty handed. Does anyone know anything about New York nursing, for new graduates or just in general? For example: - Do I get my license in NY or write in TX and then get my NY license? - When do residencies start hiring for Spring graduates? - What is the usual start month of NYC residencies? - Which residencies in NYC are known to be better? - Other information you think I should know... If y'all have ANY information whatsoever, please let me know. I know everything there is to know about the hospitals and residencies in TX, but I feel clueless about NYC. Thanks!
  6. Thank you for this information!
  7. I have! But none of them state the start dates or have contact information available!

  9. Thank you so much for your quick response. I am looking into New York Presbyterian and NYU Langone (I think they are the only 2 hospitals in NYC that have residencies other than Hospital of Special Surgery). I have searched the depths of the internet but have not been able to find ANY start dates. The only reason I need to know so soon is planning when to have the wedding and when to find an apartment.
  10. Hi, I am looking to know which month nurse residencies usually start. I am specifically looking into NYC, but I'll take any start dates, as it can still give me a good idea! i currently live in Texas and am getting married this summer and moving to New York City. So, I really would like to know when most nurse residencies start :). Thank y'all! OH and by the way, I graduate April 28th, if that helps!

  12. Hello everyone, I am in my last 2 semesters of Nursing school, and I am trying to get a PCT job (or a Nurse Extern job) in an ICU in Austin, TX. I applied for a job as a PCT at our new hospital in the ICU, but did not get it, although I knew it was a long shot. Does anyone have any recommendations about how to successfully get a PCT job in an ICU - willing to work on a different unit, but really want to work in the ICU as a nurse (so need the experience). Thank you in advance!
  13. Hello everyone, In April 2018, I will be graduating with a BSN from a school in Central Texas (where I currently reside). After graduation, I would like to get a job at a hospital in New York City. I am wondering if anybody has any advice about what I can do to be a more competitive candidate, even though I will be a new nurse. My history: BSN (complete in April 2018), 2 years of Medical Assistant experience at a Family Practice & Urgent Care, BLS & ACLS certifications. I REALLY would like to work in the ICU (And I know that is a long, loooong shot as a new nurse, especially in New York City, but I would like to give myself the best shot possible) - And if I can't get into an ICU, I would like to get onto a floor that I could easily transfer from to an ICU after a little more experience (end goal is CRNA school at Columbia or SUNY Downstate). Money is also a factor - which is another reason why I want to be as competitive as possible. I'm a little lost about what I need to be doing and don't have much direction, and I would REALLY appreciate ANY advice in relation to nursing, graduation, nursing in NYC (best hospitals, living, etc.), ways to make myself a more competitive candidate, or anything else y'all can think of. Thank y'all so much in advance!!!
