Hello everyone! Applications for TCU CRNA have opened for Spring 2024. I was looking for a forum for this application cycle but didn't see one and decided to start one! I am working on my application and studying for the GRE currently. Best of luck to everyone!
Good morning all,
I am a new grad and my end goal is to become a CRNA in the future, so I'm trying to choose my path accordingly. My question is, is the acuity level at the hospital where you get your ICU experience very important?
I got a ICU job offer at Baylor Grapevine, though very happy, I'm not sure if it is a high acuity ICU.
I also got scheduled for MICU interview at Parkland next week. Will Parkland a better choice to get experience from?
Thank y'all!! Wish everyone good luck!

I'd say high quality experience is important to help build your knowledge base and feel confident enough to apply to school. I had 2 different program directors say in info sessions "you wanna be at the hospital where the helicopter lands, not where it takes off from" and I found that very insightful.

Those are really really good advices. Thank you so much for responding!
Good luck!!
For those interviewing:
1. Relax! Take a deep breath! I was super stressed out prior to my interviews. I interviewed with Drs. Jenschke, Collins, Riddle, and Oakes and they were very friendly and put me at ease during the interviews.
2. They'll probably ask about something about you that's not on your resume that you'd like them to know about you.
3. You should have already prepared for Why CRNA? and Why TCU? They'll ask these in some form.
4. They also looked at my questionnaire responses and asked about a couple of those as well.
Wishing you all the best for your interviews!
Thanks so much for sharing @Nyknick! The questionnaire responses you mean the emotional intelligence stuff? Did you get any clinical scenarios/clinical questions? How long did it last? Thank you so much for taking the time to help! Good luck to you!! So happy for you that you felt comfortable and that you're done!! ?❤️
