Hi all. I just (two days ago) finished sending off the last few pieces of my applications to Baylor, UTH, Wesleyan, and TCU. Now I'm doing the miserable waiting thing so I thought it'd be nice to hear from other people that are in the same boat. We could keep each other up to date on interview invites and acceptances and such. I'm pretty sure a lot of us have our hands full with Ike at the moment, but whenever anyone has some free time, I'd love to hear how my future classmates (being incredibly optimistic here) are doing. Good luck all.
Thanks lifelongstudent for the advice. Does anyone have any pros and cons for TCU over TWU and vice versa. BTW this whole app process is the pits
I am a student of TCU, so of course I'm bias! When I was getting ready to apply, I talked to TWU students (many) and a couple from TCU. I got much more positive feedback from TCU students. I didn't even apply to TWU.
The staff in this program is so excited to have you here. If you are doing what is expected of you, they will go ABOVE and BEYOND to help you succeed. Now that I'm here, I'm so grateful I chose TCU!
Plus, our director received the Program Director of the Year for 2008 from AANA! :)
I wish you all the best, one of the hardest parts is what you're doing now! Don't give up!
I have a UTHSC Houston interview on Jan 22! I see a few others do too. Good luck to everybody! I'm just happy to have gotten an interview. I can now say with certainty that if nothing else this year I'll have the interview experience under my belt. Now I have to go shopping for proper interview attire. Not looking forward to that so much. Can't I just go in scrubs?!?!?
Hey,
My interview is for January 5th at TWU, but I haven't heard back from TCU yet.
I did already go to an interview at KU, back in October, and I've got one at MTSA on the 17th.
I really, really, really want to get into one of these schools.
Anyone else here applying to KU or MTSA? Or is it too far North for you guys?
I have an interview at both TCU and TWU in January. I have a question for any TCU students about the clinical sites for TCU. I live in Frisco, therefore I am toying between the DFW and Sherman clinical sites. The distance to Sherman is about the same from Frisco to FW and WITHOUT the traffic. If I get the Sherman site, would the secondary sites be further or would they be around Sherman? I need some help!!! Thanks. :)

Actually chosing non-Fort Worth sites could improve your chances of getting the clinical site of your choice since the FW sites are so in demand. I suggest calling Carol at TCU & asking her about the other sites. I would think you would have to travel to FW for pedi, as nearly everyone in the area goes to Cooks. Don't know about the others. Good luck!
WOW, you received a letter, but your interview is not until January??!! I got a letter on Saturday (12/6) for an interview on Monday (12/15)!!!! Freaking out? JUST A LITTLE! :) Thought I would have more time, so I am studying like crazy. I applied at TWU for their clinical site in Topeka, Kansas, as well as Newman University in Wichita. Haven't heard anything back from Newman yet, but didn't expect to until January anyway, from either of them, so the letter was quite a SURPRISE. (An awesome, welcome surprise, but a surprise none-the-less). Let me know if anyone else is interviewing at Stormont Vail in Topeka!!

Hi 've been a looong time reader of allnurses.com, and I've finally signed up! I'd also like to apologize in advance for my horrible spelling :)
I am in the process of finishing my applications for Baylor and UTHSC Houston programs. Very excited, and very nervous. I figure worst case is it's a learning experience and I'll try again next year. Best case --I get in! Good luck to everybody.
