Hi all. I just (two days ago) finished sending off the last few pieces of my applications to Baylor, UTH, Wesleyan, and TCU. Now I'm doing the miserable waiting thing so I thought it'd be nice to hear from other people that are in the same boat. We could keep each other up to date on interview invites and acceptances and such. I'm pretty sure a lot of us have our hands full with Ike at the moment, but whenever anyone has some free time, I'd love to hear how my future classmates (being incredibly optimistic here) are doing. Good luck all.
Quick question for TCU and TWU past interviewees. Anyone know about how long they give you to confirm an acceptance before they give it to an alternate? What kind of deposits did they require? I'm specifically asking because I have an interview at UT Houston 1/23 and I don't know how long after that they let people know. I'd really like to go to the Houston area, but I know my chances are going to better getting in TCU or TWU. I'm still holding out hope that I might even get a Baylor interview which isn't until the end of January and they say they'll let you know by the end of February. I'm just kind of curious to hear from someone who's been there.
I can't find my letter from TWU but I still have mine from TCU. I was required to confirm my acceptance in writing by January 31, 2008. My interview was on Jan 5 or 6, whichever was a Monday, I forget. So not long. The deposit as $1500. TWU's deposit is less, about half that I think but since I declined them right away I never asked about it again. Good luck!
I think I got my letter last Wednesday for TWU saying I had an interview Jan 9th. I guess the interview is 45 minutes and pretty much an oral CCRN exam. I am extremely nervous because I have already interviewed at two other schools and am only an alternate at one and I'm waiting for a letter from RSNA which should be here tomorrow or Wed. Good luck to all those that are going for interviews.

Take a deep breath & relax. Don't overthink things. Get out your CCRN review book & do the practice questions on pulmonary & then whatever area is your specialty (neuro, CV, etc.). Also, make sure you practice a TON of ABG interpretation & know WHY those gases might occur so that you can apply a patients vital signs & symptoms to the gas and explain why the gas occurred. Good luck!
