Texas Wesleyan University
Dipriman, I have heard that the TWU interviews are very clinically based and that they don't want to necessarily know 'how much you know' but how you can figure out an answer that you don't know....what you're thinking process is. I have some study material from a current student at Newman University in Wichita, who interviewed with TWU as well. As long as you're not interviewing at the Topeka KS site (and competing with me!!) :) I can send you the study stuff I have. When is your interview? I called TWU yesterday to see how many students they accept at Topeka...3-5. That's it! And she wouldn't tell me how many interview for those spots. I suppose it's probably better that I don't know. I'm overthinking this whole thing and I wish my interview was today so I could get it over with! :) Edited by Traumarus: please don't include email addys in your post. Thanks.

Dipriman, which clinical site are you applying for? And are you interviewing at the university, or at your clinical site?

Texas Wesleyan University
I applied at TWU for the Topeka, Kansas clinical site. Anyone else applying for this site?? I received my letter on Saturday the 6th stating that I have an interview scheduled for Monday the 15th!! YIKES. Trying to prepare quickly. At least I will have Christmas and New Years to pass the time while waiting for *acceptance*! And I start a new travel assignment on Jan 5...all things to help take my mind off the wait. But for now, I am NERVOUS about the interview.

Texas Applicants for Fall of 2009
WOW, you received a letter, but your interview is not until January??!! I got a letter on Saturday (12/6) for an interview on Monday (12/15)!!!! Freaking out? JUST A LITTLE! :) Thought I would have more time, so I am studying like crazy. I applied at TWU for their clinical site in Topeka, Kansas, as well as Newman University in Wichita. Haven't heard anything back from Newman yet, but didn't expect to until January anyway, from either of them, so the letter was quite a SURPRISE. (An awesome, welcome surprise, but a surprise none-the-less). Let me know if anyone else is interviewing at Stormont Vail in Topeka!!

Texas CRNA Applicants Fall 2009
Wow Neurogeek that is amazing!! Hey I applied at Texas Wesleyan for the clinical site in Topeka, Kansas, and received my letter on Saturday the 6th, for an interview on Monday the 15th at Stormont Vail!!! I don't know if it's a blessing or a curse that I don't have much time before the interview! I applied at Newman University in Wichita as well, but don't expect to hear from them until January. I am studying like crazy this week...thought I would have more time. Any last minutes tips from anyone? I have searched the forums, and think I have a pretty good idea what to study, but.... I'm freaking out a little. :)

What company do you use?
I used Travel Max for my first assignment....everything was great, except for the people who work in the local office in Oakland. My recruiter was very helpful, including moving me when the place I was originally staying turned out to be 'not so great'. For my 2nd assignment, I decided to play the field and try another company, mostly because of the way the local office in Oakland treated me, but also just wanted to see what else was out there. BOY do I regret that decision. I went with Abetta Care, and it has been awful from the time I left home. I drove cross country from FL to CA, after signing the contract, and got a phone call as I was passing through NV saying that I would not be starting the next Monday as planned because I lacked a certification that was required for the job. This was just the beginning, and without going into details, it has been one thing after another, and I STILL have not started work. I've invested time and money into this assignment, and am hesitant to change companies now since I will lose money for the move, the certification, and my TIME; plus I am not excited about restarting the whole process of getting started with another company. Anyway, hope this helps any of you looking for a good company. By the way, the pay and benefits with both companies were great. OH, and I have no way to contact Abetta Care after hours, which I think is very important in a travel nursing capacity.
