Ok, im really spazzing out:banghead: This is my 4th time taking the NCLEX-PN. I get severe test anxiety and my mind goes blank after a few questions. I end up having to take multiple breaks cause i have to throw up:barf02:. It doesnt help that the check in to take the test is like being booked into prison. The process itself is nerve wrecking. A small little cubicle with cameras everywhere, sheesh!! The first two times I took the test, I maxed out. The 3rd time it shut off at 107 questions. This 4th time it shut off at 85. Ive studied for 4-6 hours a day. I studied as much as I could. The meds, the labs, the formulas. This time, I didnt get test anxiety. I walked in pretty confident and relaxed. Once the test shut off at 85, I walked out of the building and threw up lol:cry:. I live in the state of CA. so I have to wait a month to get my results.:icon_roll Ugh..WHY!!!! I'd say 90 percent of the questions I got were SATA questions, and the rest were priority questions. I didnt get any math or lab questions like the other times. Im spazzing out right now. I hope i passed. I can honestly say that there was only 5 questions that i truly did not understand. The rest, I was familiar with. I guess im just venting. My classmates passed on the first try and all of their test stopped at 85-90 questions. Im hoping this is a good sign. But I fear that 85 questions means, either I did really good? or REALLY BAD!! what do you guys think?

It is not a sign, I've come to discover. If it stopped at 85, it could mean that either you've reached passing standards, or that you were not meeting passing standards, so asking more questions would be futile. Anyways, maybe you should try the PVT. If you get the good pop-up, that's a verrrrrrrrrrrrry good indicator that you have passed! Good luck :)

I took it about a year ago, and it shut off at about 84-85 and I passed. I remember that it seemed like there were a ton of SATA and a good number of difficult questions. The questions get more difficult if you are doing well, so it's a good sign that you had a lot of SATA questions I think.
Thanks guys. I hope i did pass. If not, I have 4 more tries, I will use them all. I am a good nurse, I just need a piece of paper to make it official. Because apparently all the sweat, tears and blood of nursing school isnt enough for the state of Ca.

I took the nclex-pn two weeks ago & it shut off at 85 questions. I was feeling the same way u are. I did the pvt trick & got the good pop up. :-) It put my mind at ease just a bit. 48 hours later my name was up on the bon website. I bet you did great!! Try the trick, it really works. Good luck :-)
I tried the PVT and it took my to the "enter cc info" page. I failed:barf02:again

I am so sorry to hear that it may be time to change resources and study strategies around.

Sorry to hear that... it's really a bummer. Do you think you were overthinking the questions??? Seems like you really prepared for the exam... is the PN harder version??? I think you are ready it was just that maybe the "right" questions for you to pass weren't there... some people can be lucky and get questions that they really studied on others not so much...

Hopefully you've already found out this info. You can do the trick immediately after taking your test. Log back into Pierson Vue and try and register to take the test again, if you get a pop up that says our records indicate you've recently taken the test please contact your board of nursing, then you passed. If it takes you to the screen to pay them you failed. Let us know how it went. Good luck.
