i got written up at work and am currently suspended for a few days. when i went in to work the other night to see a fellow employee i was told by my peers that i was fired. i told them i was not told this. when i got disciplinary action there were 3 people in the closed door room. me the don and adon and i told no-one. my work wants me to come in. they called @7am today. my question is do i resign before i am officially terminated. i know this will affect unemployment compensation if i do this. but i also know getting fired doesn’t look good on a resume. either way i know i wont get a favorable reference even though i have been a reliable well liked employee with only a history with one other (verbal) warning. please help i don’t know what to do?:banghead:

Did Susan go for her meeting? I hope everything is alright.

You can only tape record people with their permission. This is why all the businesses have 'This call may be recorded for training and quality control purposes.' on all of their phone systems.

stanley...read,read....kharing indeed did say "ask" about the taping...

This is not true. It depends upon the state in which you are living and which mode of communication you're using, in regards to whether or not there must be 1 or 2 party approval for "communication interception," otherwise known as recording.....Here in AZ., it is only necessary for one party to be aware of an intercepted communication. Would be interesting to find out what the exact rules for in person recordings....

well its too late for that I talked to the DON on the phone and she terminated me gave me a few other bogus reasons. I asked for a warning told her I would go to a different shift but in the end she/they had made up their minds. I am tempted to call the administrator to ask to resign but I dont know what good that will do..either way they probably wont give me a favorable reference. signed down but not out !thanks for your concern:heartbeat

Hi Sue,

I've been reading your story. I'm so sorry. I REALLY believe that you'll land on your feet with something better. Keep the faith, Sweetie.

You're better off not working there anyway. It's too bad it was on their terms and not your's. Put in some applications, when you get called for interviews and they ask why you were terminated just be honest and say that you have learned from your "mistakes"(not saying you made any but if you say that it would probably make you look good)

Thanks for the encouraging words.. its nice to know there are still nice, caring people et.nurses left in the world. Cause all I've seen lately are cold heartless woman that are in this profession for only a job/$$$ and to take good people down...to make themselves feel better.:smokin:

Thanks i really feel better that I no longer work there. It was almost an embarassment (to say I worked there or when family members would come in). The way resident care has declined because their so short staffed and do not want to spend money for supplies. Even the residents are aware and make comments about the short staff. Their firing good cna's and nurses. God did me a favor I guess.:yeah:

Another door will open.

So you were terminated on the phone? I would just send a certified letter of resignation. That place sounds foolish.

Since no one has answered yet....I believe it means...Original Poster or Original Post.

What should I write on the resignation. She accused me of a few things that werent true and I can back them up. I would really like to look at my employee file and some other relevant paperwork.??Help/Hurry.I was going to go to the unemployment office this am. If I send a letter of resignation I wonder if I can still say I was fired.:confused:
