  1. Sorry you are devastated...time to regroup and find a solution. Are you saying that you are staying in the apartment through November? If so, look for a per diem at another hospital in the area. Not sure if you can get out of the breach of contract fee. Keep your head up and formulate a plan!
  2. Wrote a ton of SOAPs and case studies while in RT program, but haven't had to deal with them in the clinical setting. I love being an RRT!!!!
  3. If I was in your shoes I would document everything and call a meeting with this woman and management. Make sure you make it clear to your superior/s that you want to develop a better working relationship with your co-worker. You did a great job detailing the events in this forum, so it shouldn't be too difficult to get the message across that your co-worker is creating a hostile work environment. You are in a tough spot - but if you don't address this now, you will get set up by this psycho and fired. My first reaction was to tell you to quit, but you will be job hopping for a third time - not a good idea just yet. Work it out, stand your ground and things should hopefully get easier.
  4. Just a quick comment/suggestion (I am an RRT) make sure you use the settings that were recommended from your sleep study. BiPap/CPap machines are usually covered by insurance companies. I would only buy a machine if I didn't have insurance coverage.

  7. Don't know if it is legal, but I do know it isn't the smartest choice. The teacher/professor is now open to the rest of the class' gossip and claims of unfair treatment.
  8. The rest of the hospital has blue scrubs that you obtain from a vending machine, just like in trauma.
  9. You can't reapply - were you expelled? If so, there should be a paper trail that lead the Administration to make that decision. (Seems kind of harsh if there is only one documented incident.) You mentioned having a history of tardiness....have you had to sign documents regarding this as well? There just seems to be something missing in this story.
  10. At this point, it seems like is it more important for you to be right - than it is to be a nurse. Let it go. I don't recall hearing any stories of people winning these types of lawsuits. They drag on for YEARS! What are you going to do while you are waiting for your day in court? Time to get humble, talk to the Director of your program and see if they will squeeze you in for the next semester. The goal is to graduate. Oh and just because you paid 20 grand at a private school, doesn't give you the right to nod off at a clinical site.

  13. When I was a slave to acrylic nails and decided to take them off I used Nailtiques. It's a nail polish - kind of pricey (over ten dollars) but strengthened my real nails.

  15. I am leaving for work in about one hour. After reading this, it will be easier to get through the night. It's been a tough week - lots of stressors. Thank you for putting this in your reply! I love my job, but when things get rough it makes it hard to stay on track.
