Housing Issue
Hello All, I've been looking into alot of Hospitals in NYC that I want to work for. I found out that NY Presbyterian offers housing on both the Columbia and Cornell campuses. Has anyone lived in these housing complexes? How are they and is it affordable on a nurse's salary? How are the studios? I was also considering working at Mt. Sinai Hospital, but they do not offer housing to employees. I would need to find an apartment for myself...I mean, I want to find a decent apartment that is not too expensive (maybe $700). So, what do you think is a better option? Thanks All! Steve

HELP! New grad looking for work
Hey All, I'm a new graduate (BSN) and I haven't taken my N-CLEX yet. I called the Boards yesterday and they said it would take another 4 weeks until I get my Authorization To Test (ATT). So, since I haven't taken and passed my N-CLEX yet, no hospitals in the city will hire me. So, I'm thinking of becoming a nursing assistant at a hospital per diem because I need to start making some money. Do you think this is a good idea? Also, does anyone know of any hospitals that take new grads directly in to the Emergency Department? Thanks all! Steven

Drexel ACE '07 Students!!!!
Hey all, I'm trying to get this post back up since we're getting closer to September. I am going to be living in Stiles Apts. right next to the hospital. I think the best thing for me to do is to move in early so I can get settled before the program starts. Is anyone else moving in early also? I think I'm going to need to buy some furniture for my bare apt... =( If anyone wants to talk about entering the program my AIM sn is stk776 and my e-mail is [email protected] . See you soon guys. ~Steven

Drexel ACE '07 Students!!!!
Hi, just wanted to make a post for all those entering Drexel's ACE in 2007. I'm excited about going into the program, but like many others I am unfamiliar with the campus and the people, so I made this post so we can share our experiences and get to know each other before Fall. So, post away Class of 2008!!!

Drexel ACE Fall '07, Worried about Finacial Aid
Hi all, I'm new to the site. I recently got my only acceptance letter from Drexel's ACE Program, however, I am worried about the cost of attending. I graduate in May with a BS in Health Science and I already have 15,000 in loans. Can anyone give me advice how I can finance my schooling? Also, if anyone from Drexel's ACE program has gone through the same situation, can you explain how you were able to finance your education? Also, living on campus is too expensive and I don't have a car. =/ Does anyone know of any off campus apts. within walking distance of Drexel? Thanks and good luck to everyone applying to nursing schools this year! ~Steve
