UTK ABSN Fall 2015

U.S.A. Tennessee

Hello,

This is my first post here and I noticed there still isn't a thread for this.

UTK is my first choice and I'm really anxious because I haven't received an invitation for an interview, and it's already almost the end of Feb.

I have a 4.0 in my prerequisites, a 3.66 in my undergraduate, but only have 5 prerequisites completed thus far. I have submitted a plan detailing how I'll have all the prerequisites completed before the start of the program though.

I still haven't submitted the UTK general application or transcripts... I assume that they have to be submitted before acceptance into the program though.

Has anyone else received their interviews yet? How many prerequisites have you completed?

do you live within city limits?

Hello @mee9mee9

I have already completed my interview and I must say it went well. I have completed all of my pre-reqs. When is your interview?

Hi Sylfaen,

Sounds like you have done very well in school so far, you should be proud of yourself. :)

I had my interview on Monday the 16th, it was supposed to be on campus but the weather got really bad so we completed it via phone instead.

My Prerequisite GPA is a 4.0 and my Graduate GPA is a 3.64. I don't really know for sure how they weigh that or if they'll just use my undergrad GPA which is a 3.58. I do have a military background so that may help me.

I'm completing Chem I right now, scheduled to take an accelerated Chem II course in June. Those are they only two Prereqs I still need.

Which prerequisites have you already completed if you don't mind me asking?

Hi tponyiri,

Congrats on being interviewed as well. I'm sure we're all anxious to find out. Ms. Brown mentioned it will be within a month of the start of interviews. She did say they are looking to fill 40 seats for this falls' cohort (8 more than last year) and I believe gauging from the interview sign-up their are 59 applicants scheduled to/or have already interviewed.

Feel free to email me: [email protected]

i not pursuing a bsn. i was just curious if you were in state or out of state.

Im in state

Yeah I was wondering if they would have to postpone interviews and the applicant selection process because of this terrible weather... I've taken Nutrition, Developmental Psych, A&P 1, Chem 1, and Stats. I'm currently in the process of completing A&P 2, Microbio, & Bio (for a different college, in case I don't get into UT). And I have the rest scheduled for summer...

I live in Oak Ridge which is pretty close to Knox.

And well, I found out why I didn't get selected for an interview. I wasn't aware of this, but this whole time my NursingCAS application was incomplete. I thought we only had to send official transcripts to General Admissions, since we manually input our transcripts into the NursingCAS system... So my application is still listed as incomplete and awaiting transcripts. I had all my transcripts rushed over there on Thurs of last week. Courtney told me that I can still send them, but it's up to the nursing committee to decide whether or not to still consider my application.. So I'm trying to get my application verified ASAP :/ I am really hoping they'll still consider me.. I just don't want to completely give up without at least doing whatever I can

The NursingCAS application was a major headache so I understand your frustration. I checked it twice a day every day until it was cleared, made me so nervous.

Sounds like you have most of the important classes done already. That's a good thing. Keep your head up. :)

They are sending out acceptance letters now.

How did you find out?
