Temple College ADN/LVN 2014

Published

I noticed that there has not been a 2014 topic started yet for the Temple College nursing programs. I am getting nervous and want to know if there is anyone out there applying for the same year I am. I will be applying for the ADN and LVN program. So far I have all my pre and co-requisites completed with a 3.76 GPA. I will be taking my hesi test this October, and I also live IN-district. I am nervous and losing sleep over whether or not my scores will be good enough!

When do we do the drug text? I still have to do my physical and get my shot records together smh I feel so behind..... I had to reschedule my dr appt from today bc I was so tired from work... ill be honest I can't wait to go part time

Hello ladies, sorry I have been m.i.a I was moving this past week so its been crazy busy with work and trying to move. Shannon welcome I see you found us. Summer I hope all is going well with you. We have like three weeks until orientation yeahhhhhh. Cocoa I feel you I cant wait either to go part time at my job its too much for me I work the 3-11 shift so I am so tired by the time I get home.

When I was in LVN school, they handed me my drug test info at orientation. Maybe it is still the same?

And yes! 3 weeks!!!! I cant wait! I am ready to get my book list so I can order them on amazon... and get my scrubs. Ive been working overtime so I can make sure I can afford to buy everything since I dont qualify for much financial aid.

How is your moving going? Girl, I feel you! Before I quit the VA, I was working 3:30 to midnight.. craziness. I was ALWAYS tired. I started my new job and have 4 days off in a row.. its been so freakin nice. I forgot how stress free home health is.

Everyone keep Jordan in your thoughts and prayers. She went up to the school today to find that NOBODY has turned down their position. She is starting to lose hope. I KNOW she is gonna get in though. Orientation is mandatory, so maybe people wont show up.. and theres always people not passing their background checks n stuff.

Congratulations to all of you who were accepted!! I know a big weight has been lifted from shoulders lol, I hope I get accepted as well. I looked at some previous post and seen everyone scores, which only made me more nervous! I didn't do as well as I thought I would, I only made an 78:no: I'm just hoping that maybe there wont be a lot of applicants this year or maybe everyone didn't make 90's with 4.0 GPA's lol... Does anyone know the stats from last's years nursing program? How many applicants and how many they accepted?

I am SOOOOO proud of all of us!! This thread is GROWING :D Cocoa, I was given a check list since we wont have an orientation. Im waiting till May to get my TB test done but other than that, come tomorrow, Ill be done with everything else: blue card to be turned in by May 9th, CPR will be required by first day of class june 2, physical exam needs to be done by june 6, order nurse pack by june 6, drug screen by june 13, all immunizations by july 1. I hope that helps any. Yall have an orientation so Im sure they will clear up the dates for yall. lharley, did you just apply for the ADN? or did you apply to LVN too? By looking on here, no one but the girls on here made me feel good about my scores. It seemed like everyone had all A's and near perfect if not so GPAs. Course I was only going for LVN. I dont have micro and my GPA is/was only a 3.0 so hang in there. I would be proud of yourself to have applied. And JORDAN!!! WE ARE ALL PRAYING FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! It seriously wont feel great at all if youre not there.

Summer, moving has been crazy but I had to get close to I 35 so I can just hop on the highway to temple. I am over here by the outlet mall and the dive will just be 45min. Yes you are right they will give us the drug test info at orientation it says so in the packet. I am planning to go to the school on wed morning and drop off all my paperwork just being lazy but will definitely do it early next week maybe Monday. Yeah girl that evening shift sucks. Its like you have no life. will pray for Jordan it will work out.

lharley132010, welcome!!! I'm Summer! :) A few of the girls here are waiting with you for the ADN letters! They were accepted to the LVN program, but also applied to the ADN. So you have some waiting buddies! The wait is freakin gruesome. The wait for my acceptance to the bridge program gave me gray hair.

At the information session for the ADN program, they said they wouldnt accept anyone lower than a 3.5, so you are good! You have a 3.5, so you should be fine!

There are usually around 250-300 applicants, and they only accept 60ish. In 2007, when I started LVN school, there were 400 applicants for 60 spots. Insane!

Hey, I also live right beside I35! lol but Im in Temple. My friend Sarah use to drive to Temple from Round Rock every day for class. She said its not bad, cause its mostly highway!

I turned in my paperwork last week, and the secretary hadnt created a folder for me. She said, "are you sure you were accepted? I made folders for everyone, and dont have yours." I showed her my letter, she was like, "oh. Guess I overlooked you."

RUDE! lol!! Make my dang folder woman!!!

And you are right, I had NO life. I missed my kids soooo much!

Angpatridge I live in cedar park area by the outlet mall so I will be driving back and fourth. Its not bad at all just 45 minutes with no traffic. Most of the traffic is heading south and I will be going north. It will be way worth it in the end. how far is belton from temple? I went to the Lvn program at Victoria college in gonzalez center and I remember a few students that were driving from belton.

Summer, LOL my heart would have jumped out if the secretary had told me that. You are so right summer they only want people with 3.5 GPA and above. Its crazy you know. I am getting excited summer actually I am so ready to go PRN or Part time and focus on school it will go by quick plus we got each other's back so that's comforting.

I wonder how many people have applied to the adn program? I know several people that could not apply because they made C's on their HESI. My friend applied last week and they only have about 100 applicants

Girl! My heart dropped! She said, "are you sure you didnt get alternate?!" I was like NO! I have my letter right here!! (as I was shoving it in her face for confirmation!)

I was kinda scared to walk away and leave my stuff... what if she lost my physical and shot forms!?! I called back the next day to confirm she still had everything hahahahaha

I am so excited too!!!! I cant freakin wait. I didn't go part time, but I did quit my VA job which had me away from my family way too much. I worked Friday-Tuesday 3:30-midnight.. it was rough! Then, they werent willing to work with my school schedule, so I just put in my 2 weeks and went back to my old home health agency, and got perfect hours. Now, I work Fri-Sun 7a to 9p, but I am one on one with my kid, his mom absolutely loves me, and allows me to bring my lap top to do homework. She also said once school starts, I can cut back hours if I need. Although, I am going to try to stick with these hours, cause I kinda have it made, and I dont wanna fall behind on any bills.

Maddy, my friend applied TODAY and said she was number 161. Today was the last day to take the HESI I think. EEEK!! thats so exciting! That means that this is officially the BEGINNING of the END of the wait for you guys!!!!!! After April 2, nobody else can apply!! Ugh, I hate this wait! I gotta KNOW! lol I'm impatient!!!!
