Temple College ADN/LVN 2014

I noticed that there has not been a 2014 topic started yet for the Temple College nursing programs. I am getting nervous and want to know if there is anyone out there applying for the same year I am. I will be applying for the ADN and LVN program. So far I have all my pre and co-requisites completed with a 3.76 GPA. I will be taking my hesi test this October, and I also live IN-district. I am nervous and losing sleep over whether or not my scores will be good enough!

Do you still have friends willing to sell their books? Also I'm not sure if you ladies are aware but we can't use our fa to buy our scrubs(300) and nurse pack(100)

Have faith you will get in and just believe. Many people apply to several programs and get accepted and have to turn other schools down. I was an alternate four years ago for the LVN program and got called two months before the program started. I am still waiting on my blue card to arrive so I can take all my paperwork in. I will pray for you girl so you can get in.

Cocoa I haven't seen summer on here this week I hope she is ok. Why cant we use fa to buy the scrubs and why are they so expensive like that? i get mines online and the prices are very reasonable.

Good question! And how many pair for that much but I went in to do my financial aid and turn in my blue card and the lady from fa at Taylor campus said so, she didn't really say why but if we can order some else where I will definitely be looking.

Sorry Ive been MIA. I just started a new job.. I left my job at the VA, so this week has been about spending time with my kids, and starting my new job :)

No, you cant use FA for scrubs or the nurse packs. They are bought from another entity than the school, so FA wont cover it. So stupid.

I never spent 300 on scrubs. When I went, it cost 300 for the scrubs AND nurse pack. But you had to order your scrubs thru this horrible company. I am so glad they changed that. The nurse pack included your stethoscope and pocket thingy (with scissors, a pen light, and some other mumbo-jumbo)

I will NOT be ordering mine thru the school this time. They are ridiculous. As soon as I get the info about the scrubs, Im ordering mine online. I know they are super specific about the brands and styles. I guess Ill find out April 15. So much has changed since I went to LVN school. Im an old lady now.

I am still waiting on my Blue card. I called the BON, they told me it would be mailed this week, so I will hopefully get it soon.

How long does the BON usually take?I know my record is 100 % clear and it has been over 2 weeks since the fingerprinting.

Cocoa-did you get the info yet from lvn director? April 9th at 3pm in rm 113 is the orientation...I wonder when they are going to tell everyone or if they forgot.

Sometimes, the BON takes FOREVER. When I got accepted to nursing school, I did fingerprints (had NOTHING on my record) and it took a 3 months.. However, I am an old lady, and we still did paper fingerprints and snail mail.

I talk like this was SOOO long ago, but it kinda was. 7 years ago is a long time in technology years!

However, I called the BON the other day, the lady said on a GOOD week, it will take 1-3 weeks now. If you did it super early, they came back in a week, but they are getting bombarded with people since this is acceptance season for most Texas schools, so it may take a lil longer.

U can call the BON, and they can tell u when ur stuff will be mailed :)

Yeah mine took about 2 weeks maybe even 3 but I went up there Tuesday and she gave me the days for orientation, she didn't say how long it would be. And remember the BON is just a little blue card it's not in a envelope

..I will be so mad if the nurse pack includes pen light and scissors lol. I have already spent waaaay too much money trying to get the best of the best. My blue card took 6 days I think but I stayed paranoid the entire time. Seems they could be easily misplaced in the mail truck. I cant wait to SUMMER gets her schedule so I can know if I at least have a lunch bud lol Hows jordan? How is everyone. At 285 comments, I am hoping we are the coolest support group yet on here hahaha AIR HUGS TO YALL!!!
