I noticed that there has not been a 2014 topic started yet for the Temple College nursing programs. I am getting nervous and want to know if there is anyone out there applying for the same year I am. I will be applying for the ADN and LVN program. So far I have all my pre and co-requisites completed with a 3.76 GPA. I will be taking my hesi test this October, and I also live IN-district. I am nervous and losing sleep over whether or not my scores will be good enough!
Aww, *bowing head down to yall for yalls services*. Thank you, God bless. I have never heard of william r courtney. Only a cna here, and with crazy schedules, my last job which i loved was a pediatric home health, called lakeway in temple. But yall will get in!!!! 23 days is not that far away!!!!
Oh , ok Im a mobile phlebotomist and I trained there I hated that place I actually work in nursing homes collecting blood and I feel like I don't want that to be my only option as a lvn. I've seen some sad things in nursing homes... but it's almost time to apply for Rn is everyone here that got into lvn applying?
Yes, I want the rn program over anything. I only applied to Lvn as a backup in case I didn't get into rn. When I went to the info session, they said applying to both is a good idea. I am applying to Thursday after I retake my Hesi exam. You should apply cocoa, it won't hurt to put in an application and you never know what would happen. I have all my pre and co reqs done after this semester and have high hopes.
Do all of you ladies have your living arrangements? I was planning on moving in with my parents but that doesn't look like ours going to happen, and the cost of living is not cheap in Austin. I just don't see how I will be able to work part time and still play all the bills =( ugh decisions decisions
I moved in with my mom, luckily i wont have to work while being here but i havent quite figured out the financial aid part for school or daycare. Have you looked into ...ugh i cant remember which of us have babies..but i almost thought to do part time work and live on campus but i have two kids that i dont want on campus, but they have arrangements i believe with apartments in the area where people have kids
If I get into RN I will definitely move to temple for those years. My SO has another child so cold support is taken out of his check and a good amount so we would be past struggling trying to just live on his check alone. Plus we were actually suppose to be going our separate ways in March.... I have a feeling this is going to be a hard year, but very worth it in the end
Before I separated from my husband, I wasnt too concerned about the financial part but the emotional/homework/study support. There was much lack of with that. Maybe put your hours on Fri thru Sun, since you know atleast for the summer semester, were off on fridays..or is that way at Taylor I wish we were all going to the same school. BAH. I guess it couldnt hurt to ask if there is anyone that didnt get in at taylor but got in at temple, if you could swap? Or if there are transfers? I dunno. I wish I could help somehow.

I got my LVN in the Army, and worked at Walter Reed Army medical center in D.C. for most of my military career. After I got out though I worked home health at S & W. I had adult patients though, and saw 6-7 patients a day. Mostly doing wound care in that job. I moved to Fort carson, CO after my husband got back from Afghanistan & worked in a family medicine clinic on post. When he got out of the military we decided to move back to TX & I got a job at the VA. I LOVE working with veterans & I love oncology. I really feel like I've found my calling. There are lots of good jobs for LVNs out there! Only 23 more days left Summer!!
I'm really trying to stay busy so I don't think about it....which right now is easy because I have so much going on. Hope everyone had a happy valentines day!! Thanks for being such a good support system yall! I love that you all keep me me so positive. :-)
