Hi. I was wondering if anyone has ever worked as a telemedicine specialist RN at Kaiser? If so, may you please describe your experience? Thanks!
Hello, I know this thread is no recent. I am wondering if there are any changes about this job. Is there a high turn over rate? If so, for what reason. Do you feel like the job is not as stressful as working at bedside? I currently work in ER and feel like I need a change. Do you feel like you get a lot of support from management? What will happened if you need help in the middle of a call? Do you receive call or video call? Are they recorded? Thank you all in advance.
Hello, I know this thread is not recent. I am reposting my questions from a different thread with the same topic. I am wondering if there are any changes about this job. Is there a high turn over rate still with this job? If so, for what reason. Do you feel like the job is not as stressful as working at bedside? I currently work in ER and feel like I need a change. Do you feel like you get a lot of support from management? What will happened if you need help in the middle of a call? Do you receive call or video call? Are they recorded? Hi,
IDK if anyone else is active on this thread now since it's been a while. I'm starting my telemedicine specialist RN position for KPOC next wk and wanted to get some input. It's purely WFH now other than the initial day of getting all the equipment from SD. It looks like the turn over's been oretty high for this dept so kinda scares me going into it. I was also told that it'd be hard to go back to bedside within KP unless I have another bedside job bec KPOC doesnt fall under acute care anymore. Anxious to start but also IDK how bad the micronanaging is.
Yes I did, quit after two weeks in, didn't even reach part of actual buddy training. Too much info during training/orientation with optimization consultant RN. Felt it was too much work and definitely and I couldn't stress this enough, definitely too much micromanaging, even for Kaiser.Been with KP for over a decade, and this micromanagement is the worst I have seen. Cannot touch or move your mouse an inch until shift starts so it is standard to be a minute or so late while logging in. gotta send email everyday to timekeeping to tell them why youre late logging in. Calls are recorded, can be listened to real time, review calls with you and give u input (which thats just standard practice obv) but its just overall, I felt like a kid being watched and told what to do, when in reality I have saved numerous lives, etc. Jts a different kind of nursing, yes I am aware. I just wasnt aware how I will feel like a child while working. Plus ofc youre being timed while using bathroom. So take my opinion witha grain of salt. But if I know someones timing me and I gotta go #2, the longer it will take me to do my business. I hated it Maybe when im older and cant physically do physical patient facing work anymore, I will reconsider.. but prob not

being an Advice nurse and at the end of my career has been a blessing...with that said agree with the above critique. RUde members demanding telling me to do it their way no matter what, expecting appointment with in an hour for concerns over a month long, maybe a cough for an hour, many times I want to say where did you miss your common sense injection... micro managing is a tough one, coming from the top, my manager is doing what they need to do.. bottom line is to somehow educate the public we the advice RN has the upper hand. be nice to us THE ADVICE RN...for us be kind, treat the public like you want to be treated don't take their "***" always give the disclaimer "call back with worsening sx" and don't take it personally... the plus is ..breaks and lunch when you are assigned, just sign off the computer... and out the door when your day is done.... good-luck in your new career some like it.. others are out of there fast.. hope this helps
