Is the Teas V test required for people going into the LPN field? I'm a new student and learning the ropes like all newbies...

I know that the TEAS V test is required here in Florida for most schools prior to applying for either LPN or RN acceptance. The NET is no longer used. Passing scores are different for each program, though.
I would recommend checking with each school you're considering applying to, and ask what their individual requirements are. Keep in mind however, that entry is very competetive, so try to score higher than just the minimum passing scores.
You can also Google ATI TeasV study Guide, and buy the book online directly from the publisher for around $45.

I am going for LPN and had to take it. Pretty sure it's a standard test to take for most nursing programs.
I kinda figured it was I just wasnt sure. I know that taking it scares the mess out of me...lol... I haven't been to school in several years. Thank you guys for your help.

Some programs require it, some don't. In the state of California, most programs just require a TABE test-Reading and Math Assessment.

It just depends on the school. I'm going to a community college and we were required to take the TEAS V!

I took the Teas V for my program in 2010. A lot of programs in our area did not require it though.

usually the schools with affordable tuition like community colleges require the teas because more people apply to get affordable education and since a lot of people are going to the lpn to rn route these days. its a little competitive like the RN. in where i am right now anyways.
