I'm new to the website and I posted this in another section but I think I was in the wrong place, hopefully this is the right area for this kind of post.
I am currently finishing my pre-requisites for the nursing program at Northern Virginia Community College, and I will be taking the teas exam in about a month. My school requires that you pass with at least a 78% in each section to apply for the nursing program. We are also only allowed to take the teas test 3 times ever with thirty days between each try, meaning if we don't get a 78% or above on all sections we will never be able to go to nursing school at NVCC. I have read about other programs around Va that use the teas as only a part of their admission process and do not require a certain score in order to apply. I am a bit worried, as I don't know exactly what to expect. I purchased the study manual but I have heard that the manual is not comparable to the actual teas test. I can only take the test once because the program that I hope to get in to starts during the summer (I will not have thirty days to re-test before applying.) If I get less than a 78% on each section I will have to apply for the program that starts in the fall. I'm just wondering if anyone could share their experience with the teas pre-entrance exam, especially the mathematics and science sections. Thanks so much.
i have been out of school sine 1990. I am really hard on myself, already doubting myself. I see some people talking about taking a pratice test online do you know anything about this?
I took the test twice and flunked it both times. You pay 30 Dollars to take it twice; the 2nd time it is the same test. You get 100 questions;it was nice because it gives you a pretty good idea on how the test is set up.
But you passed it when you took the real test. I am proud of ya. Just pray for me, I take it next thursday and i am studying the teas book also, but it seems like i get all the answers wrong. where are you from, if you dont mind me asking?
I will be praying for you, just study a lot of science and you should do fine. Make sure you don't waste too much time on the Math part, I was running out of time and probably made some careless mistakes.
I was born and raised in Germany, but I am Greek. I learned some English in Highschool, but just school English like they say over there. It took me 3 years after Highschool to learn English to the point where I knew what I was talking about :).
Alot of the teas test is based on how you did in highschool. At least that is how I felt. If you did fairly well in highschool with the areas on the test then you should be fine.
Hey everyone! I'm reading all of this information about TEAS and stuff- has anyone gone to one of the study group sessions? I just signed up for an appointment- does it really help? Ok well hope to hear back form anyone :)
Hi guys, I was just curious if all you have taken all of the pre-reqs as well as core courses for the nursing program? Just curious if everyone is doing it?
