  1. Hey Karenroxx!! I am studying for the TEAS also this summer. What prep books are you using? My school is exactly the same way, I need a 78% on every section, do you go to NVCC? Are you going to retake it any time soon? Hope to hear from you!
  2. hey, np for the answer. i don't remember the exact numbers on each section- but if you bought the manual it will tell you exactly how many there will be. also, i don’t know if i mentioned it already-but all 4 sections are timed so if anything- this test is also testing how much you know the material well enough to score high in a given time. if you go to the mec campus at the testing center -they have helpful worksheets that tell you everything i’m telling you like how many questions, the times for each sections. i hear what you’re telling me-i don’t even know if the test before (hesi) was any easier or better in some way- all i know is that the teas one was already given before and then the hesi then back to teas- and i think the only difference is the teas has a science section. i haven’t taken that computer competency test yet- however i’m not so sure it’s on paper? when i took my teas test i saw signs on the wall that said “computer competency” test- who knows. i know- i get nervous before exams too- have you studied everything you needed to? it’s a lot of material if you ask me- it comes down to if you practice them enough or not and be aware of them. did you get that manual because i will say the practice tests were helpful for me. i haven’t applied or sent in a checklist yet, i’m waiting to take my teas again and the computer test then i’ll get my stuff together. as for pre requisites- i've already taken all of them. i’m only taking classes that weren’t on the checklist- but part of the nursing curricula to get them out of the way. who are you taking nas162 with? i took 162 with dr. raji, she’s a great teacher! anyways, do you have an email, because i don’t regularly get on the allnurses website as often. good luck with everything, hope to hear from you soon!
  3. Hey I took the TEAS already and my advice: to really study! You're on a computer for 4 hours and you don't get a scantron, no calculator and you are timed for each section so practice taking those kinds of tests, it'll really help you. Ok well gl, when are you taking yours?
  4. Hey everyone! I'm reading all of this information about TEAS and stuff- has anyone gone to one of the study group sessions? I just signed up for an appointment- does it really help? Ok well hope to hear back form anyone :)
  5. Ok.... I know this is my 3rd message, but FutureRn...or anyone who can answer it too.....should I go ahead and turn in my checklist even though it's not done?... I remember reading that you turned it and got it blank? I'm going to have everything ready before the deadline, but I wont have all my grades up til the end of the semester..and all the tests and what not...what did you do?
  6. I know, I'm glad I really did found this website, I like knowing I'm not the only one going through the same thing. How many classes are you taking? So how exactly does it work as RN? You go through the program, pass the test go to work...now where can you work? ICU, post op, clinic..or do you need extra schooling? Any idea? By the way...did you have any health care background prior? Would having health care experience prior to applying help your chances getting in the nursing program?
  7. Yep, I got a respond and it says what Flame said, apparently they are for students without prior college credit. I was looking into that too. I remember particularly interested in RN-MSN program, did you see that one? Personally- I want to be a PA (Physician Assistant) and I'm using nova's nursing program as a stepping stone to become one, I plan to work pt as a nurse and working to get a bachelor's degree and then apply. I am currently taking HLT141 online and HLT250 (Pharmacology) with Dr. *******. We had our first test recently and he's a good teacher. HLT141 is not to bad either, it's pretty much basic review, since I'm guessing you already took nas161 and 162, you wont have any problems, its more of a review. How's bio ethics like? I'm taking just ethics online and I really like it. How was the Hesi like? I recently borrowed the study book from the library, is it hard? I hope to hear from you soon :)
  8. I am so glad I found this website! I too am a nova student and my major is nursing, I am applying for the nursing program 09'. To FutureRN, I applaud people like you who are able to juggle a family, working and goes to school- I think that's incredible. I read earlier that you were writing about the "Momentum 2+1", I just sent an email if there was anyway to have it "waived" for anyone who hadn't known about the program or just want to apply that way. I think that's the best and most reasonable thing to do, I mean come on 3 years and you get a bachelor's in nursing? plus you save so much money by going to nova. I keep reading that it's so competitive and what not, I mean is there anything you might have heard and I haven't? I heard from someone that there is no certain limit since there is a huge nursing shortage as it is. How far done are you with your pre requisites? this spring semester, I have everything done. I just have to do the tests and what nots. Have you taken tohe computer competency test? or the pre admission test? hope to get a response soon...
