Are there any good books, and or web sites, or handouts on personal hygiene esp just the basics on how to shower?

I have a teen i'm working with, who has no clue.... :o

Thanks,

I know I am a bit, well, "Pro Australia" but when you do a search on a subject like this try narrowing to Australia because with our health system we have a bog load of advice sites for virtually anything health related.

Wow.......I never realized how good I had it, all four of my children were, and are, clean freaks! Getting the older boy to wipe his butt after a BM was a challenge for a couple of years, but otherwise they're all as anal (sorry, no pun intended) about cleanliness as I am. In fact, our water bills are astronomical---they sometimes take 2 showers a day---but at least nobody stinks!! :chuckle

I raised three girls, and never had any trouble in the cleanliness department with them during their growing up years.

My stepson was a different story. My husband had to practically stand over him to get him clean. He's grown now, so I hope his cleanliness habits have improved. :)

I have four grown sons. I never did anything at all. Sometime in 8th or 9th grade someone must've said something at school, and they became absolutely fastidious, hogging the shower in the morning. If this is your own son, just let nature take it's course.Someone at school will make a crack about his BO and he'll drive you crazy by using up your hot water.:uhoh3:

Dear hmcna,

I just noticed your follow up post. It sounds like those kids are incredibly deprived and disadvantage. They probably lack the normal social skills to have my method work. How sad!:crying2: A behaviour modification specialist might have insights.
