TCU/Wesleyan Interviews

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hi everybody!

Just wondering if anyone out there has experience with either TCU or

Wesleyan interviews? I have applied for this coming year 2006 and am awaiting an invitation for an interview. Any tips or hints would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

I'm not sure where you got your numbers, but the largest the most recent class has been is 128, give or take a few. That includes students who are repeating a portion of the program.

I was told they are accepting 120, down from 140 last year.

They offered me a spot on the day of my interview, but I have not yet decided if I will accept it. I have still not heard from TCU, who I interviewed with 2 weeks ago.

The numbers came straight from the horse's mouth.

The horse lied then. The class of '07 (largest class in our history) is 128. Its not your fault you got wrong info but the class size has never decreased. The class of '08 may approach 140 (per Dr. Reinke) because we are adding clinical sites. The sites we had a year ago wouldn't have supported having 140 students.

Thanks Sigma. I didn't think it was much more than 128. I didn't realize they were adding more sites.

How is studing going? The semester is winding down!

Oops. I typoed. I was actually told by the director that the number was being reduced from 130 to 120, not from 140 to 120. Either way, I'm pretty sure TWU has, and will continue to have, the largest class in the nation.

I believe admission criteria will change in the next year or so. They (TWU) will only be accepting recent adult ICU experience and you must have a least one year of experience by the application deadline which is January 15 of the year of admission.

I feel anyone who is accepted and chooses to attend TWU will be getting a first class education. It is very very tough but doable and every thing you hear about Dr Reinke is absolutely true. He runs a very tight ship and you will know your A&P like the back of your hand. You will walk out of some of his tests feeling like you had your butt handed to you but you will love him for it.

Of the two people that interviewed me, one was dressed in blue jeans. That seemed unprofessional to me. That particular interviewer also spent a bit of time on her cell phone DURING my interview.

I found this curious, since I have acquaintances on faculty at that institution. Upon further review, as they say in the NFL, it seems the one you mentioned was wearing a denim jacket, not blue jeans. Furthermore, her father was undergoing an emergency cardiac procedure in another state, and she was concerned for his well-being. I believe she made apologies for taking the calls. Guess there are two sides to every story.

This is exactly what I heard as well. Not impressed with the poster. It was actually a denim long sleve AANA shirt over another shirt (for like when you get cold). And yes, emergency procedures for that family member and i did her that apologies were made.

Going to ask those who may have "real life" knowledge of each other to kindly keep it away from the board. Both sides of the story have been presented, and I will ask that no further discussion of that particular issue occur to avoid personal attacks. Thank you.
