TCU/TWU CRNA School Application for 2020

Nursing Students SRNA

Hey everybody! I am planning on applying to TWU and TCU for the year 2020 and I am curious how competitive my stats are. I have 2.5 years experience in the CV/CICU at a Magnet teaching hospital. My overall GPA is 3.5. GRE 309 ( 306 V 303 Q 4.0). I have my BLS, PALS, ACLS, CCRN-CSC-CMC. What are my chances of getting in?

I plan on applying too! I know someone who just got in to last years TCU CRNA class with similar stats. His GPA and GRE was slightly higher, but he only had one year of CV/CICU experience with CCRN-CMC. He told me they put a great deal of weight on scores like GPA, GRE and even CCRN scores. The interview questions were nothing about clinical scenarios, but just about personal life and why he wanted to be a CRNA. Said that the atmosphere was awesome and friendly. I have a 3.4 GPA, BLS, PALS, PALS instructor, ACLS, CCRN -109/125 , TNCC, and plan on taking GRE and CMC before application deadline. My biggest area of concern is work experience because it is mostly rural. I have a PRN job in a larger CV/CICU and will hopefully start taking hearts soon to tack that onto resume. Good luck!

These are very impressive stats! Im currently working on my CMC and hope to pass! good luck to everyone!

Do you know how many they interview and how many of those who interview are accepted?

Hey everyone! I’m applying to TCU and TWU as well. My TCU application is complete and I’m getting nervous about the potential for an interview! I have 5 years ICU experience in a mixed ICU at a level 1 trauma center. I have CCRN and pals. GRE score isn’t the best 298 ? with a 4 on writing. So I’ll retake if that keeps me out of programs this year. GPA 3.6.

Good luck to everyone!

Per the council on accreditation website: average 200 applicants and 65 accepted for TCU; 300 applicants with 100 accepted for TWU.

Has anyone heard anything about interviews yet?

Specializes in CCRN.

Not yet. I've only applied for TCU though so idk about TWU

TWU's deadline hasn't even passed yet

I haven't heard anything back from tcu yet

They said we should be hearing about interviews late July. This is their first year using nursingcas, so they're a little later than years prior.
