Hello all!
Ive just applied to the nursing program at TCU for the fall of 2016. I was just wondering if anyone else is looking for a forum to communicate with others that are in the same boat. A little information about myself: I am a current student at TCU that just transferred from Weatherford College. I have 3 more prerequisites to complete before nursing school starts. My overall GPA Is a 3.3 and I have received an A in both A&P courses, B in Microbiology, B in nutrition, and an A in Intro to psychology. I am scheduled to take the HESI A2 test on January 13th, in which I will have to update my NursingCAS afterwards. Also, I am a 4 year Army veteran and a current member of the reserve component as a Medic. I hold a EMT license as well.
Hopefully my chances are good lol. I'm looking to hear from many of you!
Honestly I debated that this entire process. I just basically let TCU decide for me lol but I am going to get my biology degree and then go to UNT hopefully!!! Just have to decide which is right for you!
Same here. There's pros and cons for both routes. But the nursing route would be longer, I don't know how I feel about going through a rigorous program, then go back to school to knock out PA prerequisites, then back into another rigorous program. I do feel honored getting accepted to the nursing program, it's hard to turn it down.

I definitely think you should not turn TCU down you worked so hard to get there but if you really want to be a PA in your heart then go for that and don't settle for nursing if it's not really what you want
Gentle TOS reminder (several posts have been reported by the membership):

Thank you.
Hi everyone! My name is Savannah Zoller and I also applied to TCU's Traditional Nursing Program for Fall 2016 as a transfer student and I got a letter saying I was waitlisted.
GPA: 3.73
Hesi Exam: 87%
I also have an EMT license and a couple hundred volunteer hours.
I am just wondering if anyone has any idea how many people are on the waiting list or basically any information regarding the likelihood of getting accepted or if anyone else is in the same boat as me! Like many of you TCU is definitely my first choice and I reserved a spot on the waitlist but havent heard much from TCU since then. Good luck to all of you! Any info is appreciated!
Hey Savannah!
My name is Devyn and I'm also a transfer student. I applied to the Fall 2016 Traditional BSN and I got the waitlist letter as well. I made a 94 on the HESI but my transfer GPA is somewhere around a 3.5, so, same boat, girl.
I'm trying to scrape up any information I can too, but the most I know is that we need to start the background check process asap by getting our fingerprints done for the BON.
I'm thankful that we can help each other out through this waiting game with any helpful info we find!
Hoping and praying that good news comes soon for all of us!
Hello Savannah and Devyn! I'm not quite sure about the waitlist or how many people are currently on it. I do, however, think that there will be quite a few people who will be declining their spots and going to different schools. You both have good GPAs, experience, and HESI scores so I think y'all will be somewhere at the top of the list but I'm not sure. This application period has surprised me a few times.
Hopefully y'all will be accepted so that I can meet both of you next fall!
