Hello all!
Ive just applied to the nursing program at TCU for the fall of 2016. I was just wondering if anyone else is looking for a forum to communicate with others that are in the same boat. A little information about myself: I am a current student at TCU that just transferred from Weatherford College. I have 3 more prerequisites to complete before nursing school starts. My overall GPA Is a 3.3 and I have received an A in both A&P courses, B in Microbiology, B in nutrition, and an A in Intro to psychology. I am scheduled to take the HESI A2 test on January 13th, in which I will have to update my NursingCAS afterwards. Also, I am a 4 year Army veteran and a current member of the reserve component as a Medic. I hold a EMT license as well.
Hopefully my chances are good lol. I'm looking to hear from many of you!
Just make sure you're getting good grades in all your course work. The HESI is very similar to the TEAS, I've heard. Try really hard to focus on the Math and reading comprehension because TCU looks more at those scores over the others. If you go back in this forum and look at my grades/scores you'll find that they aren't the best so strive to get above me and you'll be golden!
They also look at your overall GPA from all course work you've ever taken at the college level.

Ok good to know I was just a little worried when I read that they only allow you one test whereas most of the adn programs I looked into give you two chances in a 12 month period. Once I finish next semester I will have all BSN coursework completed except tcu's religion courses because I couldn't find any at Weatherford which is odd I thought they had them????
I transferred from weatherford to TCU this semester. They don't have any religious courses. I believe TCC has some though
Well I always could take it there she said that's not a big deal to take it concurrently as long as it's completed by the end of the program. Oh yea I did see you say you transferred from there :)
(MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) is amazing! I took him for A&P 1&2 and nutrition... The only thing I can say about his nutrition class is that he started using a new program last semester with my class. It crashes alot and he dosen't even know how to use it yet. I heard he is still struggling to keep the class organized this semester too. BUT he does pass everyone if you put forth the effort. I was making a low C because of all the problems with his new program but he bumped me up to a B. If you mention my name, Dusty, and my friends name, Jake, he will talk about us forever lol. He will love you after that.

No sorry i should have specified I am going to be applying next fall I still have one semester of prerequisite left to take. I'm curious how competitive this program is I mean I realize all of the nursing programs are competitive but it doesn't seem like people talk about the details much on here. I'm just trying to get a feel for my chances. Hey any advice on HESI study? I've only taken the teas v
