TCU Jan 2019/SRNA advice in general

Published

Hi!

I have been rejected from 2 CRNA schools in my area and I am feeling at a loss.

I plan on applying to TCU for Jan 2019 and it will be my top choice since I will be moving to Dallas for my significant other's job.

Those who have been accepted in the past- do you mind posting your stats or letting me know what they really look for?

I will have 2 years CVICU, 1 year ICU float pool, all at level 1 trauma academic medical centers before application, CCRN-CSC, 3.3 GPA (went to a top nursing school that is highly regarded that no one had over a 3.5 in because it is a huge weed out program). I have taken 2 grad courses (Adv patho and Adv pharm)- A's and I am considering taking Biochem to boost my undergrad science GPA.

Currently waiting to hear back from TWU but have not yet.

I have a letter of rec from an anesthesiologist, CRNA, and nurse manager.

Any advice is appreciated.

Yes. That's what they told me at the interview. Looks like last year the last interview was on a Friday and they found out 5 days later on Wednesday.

That's reassuring. I emailed Mary and she said they'd be reviewing everything tomorrow and we should know middle to end of next week. How do you feel about the interview? They were so nice but it seemed hard to gauge what they were thinking.

They told me that they were making decisions this Friday 9/7, and we would receive an acception/rejection email middle to end of next week. Ahh! My first interview they were a little intense..it was hard to gauge their thoughts, I was very nervous and struggled a bit through it. Next interview went much better and they were very nice! I just hope my first interview doesn't mess up my chances.

I was told they gave out 115 interviews this year and that they will be accepting between 65-80 this year. Did y'all hear anything about that?

So many feelings today knowing that they're going to be selecting the new class!

Totally agree! I just keep praying that I get in! My first interview was awesome and the second was just ok. Everyone was really really nice and that makes it even harder if I don't get in. I got asked a few clinical questions after I brought up my unit and all that we do, but they weren't bad. The current students were also awesome to talk to and made me feel more at ease.

I'm just over here checking my email Q5 min anyone else? í ½í¸¬

Same, and replaying the interview in my head. Not feeling too confident, but staying hopeful!

Yes! I've been checking my email constantly!! And like you I've been replaying the interview and dissecting each part trying to figure out how my responses were received. This really is the worst!!

Well, letters are out, I unfortunately did not get in, hope you all did!

Oh no, I'm so sorry. I didn't get anything yet. Do you know what time it was sent?

I got it at 3:56, hopefully that means you're in! í ½í¸€ thanks, I'm really sad and it stings but I know God has his plans that are the best ultimately so I'll be okay. Keep me posted!

I received my letter of acceptance today!!! I'm so happy!!! Congratulations to the all that also received the great news!
