TCU Fall 2017

Published

Hey Y'all!

I just applied for entrance into the Fall 2017 TCU BSN program. Looking for others who are in the same boat and maybe connect with hopeful future classmates! I attended one of the information sessions in which I was very surprised to hear them tell us NOT to retake any classes we have taken and passed with a C as they only want you to have a 2.5 or better. They said they look really hard at everyone as a person and not off your "book smarts" which I think is how admissions should work for something such as nursing. Little bit about myself I have been a PCT in the Harris ER for a year and a half, CNA license and NHA License as a Certified Electrocardiograph Technician. My GPA is a 2.65 not great, I know. However after this semester I will have completed ALL my BSN prerequisites classes.

My Hesi scores are:

Math 68

Grammar 74

Vocabulary 76

Reading 86

Anatomy 64

Biology 68

Chemistry 72

I'm hoping my personal statement, resume, ROM letters, and experience will help me get in!

Does TCU interview or just accept/deny?

I think they just accept/deny. I'm not sure though.

So the online FAQ says your TCU portal will update when they have sent the acceptance emails, letters, etc however it may update the portal first! So I am now checking it every other hour as that's when TCUs website updates! Mine changed last night from "Thank you for applying to TCU, Chelsea. Please check the document summary section to see which items we are currently missing." Then last night it updated to "Thank you for applying to TCU, Chelsea. Your application is now complete and in review."

So the people who have been denied where they traditional or accelerated?

75ish to be accepted into the program, current TCU students get in first, transfer students second. No interviews either accepted or denied.

My portal updated as well C_Schneider1010, I am so anxious! I think the portal will probably update first, like you said, and they might send an email later. I did see that they will send an email when our MyTCU is updated, so you just can't really tell! :crying2:

Just reading this forum. I received an acceptance letter today, so they should be out pretty soon!

Were you traditional or accelerated?

Which program??? Traditional or accelerated?????

Just reading this forum. I received an acceptance letter today, so they should be out pretty soon!
Congrats!:)

I was accelerated

Just called TCU SON, Rose (I think she is an administrative assistant or receptionist) said that TRADITIONAL TRACK acceptance and denial letters will either be emailed or mailed by April 17, 2017.

I was really hoping to hear back this week. At least I won't be on edge and won't have to worry about constantly refreshing my gmail account to see if I've been accepted. Best of luck to all!
