TCU Fall 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey Y'all!

I just applied for entrance into the Fall 2017 TCU BSN program. Looking for others who are in the same boat and maybe connect with hopeful future classmates! I attended one of the information sessions in which I was very surprised to hear them tell us NOT to retake any classes we have taken and passed with a C as they only want you to have a 2.5 or better. They said they look really hard at everyone as a person and not off your "book smarts" which I think is how admissions should work for something such as nursing. Little bit about myself I have been a PCT in the Harris ER for a year and a half, CNA license and NHA License as a Certified Electrocardiograph Technician. My GPA is a 2.65 not great, I know. However after this semester I will have completed ALL my BSN prerequisites classes.

My Hesi scores are:

Math 68

Grammar 74

Vocabulary 76

Reading 86

Anatomy 64

Biology 68

Chemistry 72

I'm hoping my personal statement, resume, ROM letters, and experience will help me get in!

My overall GPA is a 2.73, not any better :/ My science is a 3.42.

Hesi scores:

Math 86

Grammar 88

Vocabulary 78

Reading 86

Anatomy 64

Biology 80

Chemistry 70

That's good! What classes exactly are considered the science pre reqs?

AP I

AP II

Micro

Has anyone heard anything back?

I have been checking my mail religiously, I was paranoid and checked it on Sunday lol. I think they are just sending letters right? Or will there be an email? Does anyone know?

I received an email on March 14, with an update about one of my prereqs. The email said,"Decision letters will be mailed or emailed at the mid-April ", that wording is a little confusing lol. I checked previous forums on all nurses for TCU fall and all of the applicants got notifications around the first week of April. I am so anxious it's killing me! lol I'm just wondering is they have mailed them already.

I'm on my way to the post office to check! Talk about a nail biter!!

I wonder if they say mid April to keep people from emailing and calling because the will know before then??? People I work with who are current students said they found out first week of April!

I think they probably do list it as mid-April, so the applicants won't get too anxious. My mail already came for today and nothing. I live in Fort Worth about 10-15 minutes from TCU. I wonder if that makes a difference.

Okay, so I called and they said letters have not been sent out yet. The receptionist told me they will be sent out at the end of this week. Hopefully next week we will know!

Oh boy... the count down begins!!!!!!

Is it okay if we still have classes to take over the summer? Or will they automatically deny us because of that?
