I know TCU is really expensive however, someone is applying ... right? I am going to apply just to see what happens. I am applying as a transfer student, 3.76 overall GPA... working on increasing my science GPA from 3.50. There is information on the TCU site, but not a lot. Can anyone tell me what their selection process or trend for acceptance GPA wise is? How is the program for those who were accepted? What were the stats for those who were wait-listed in the past? What are your stats for those who are applying?
This post is for hopefuls and current students with information to share.
Ok y'all, so I need a honest (not sugar coated) answer. I currently live in austin, so I didn't even think to apply at TCU, however, my hubby just found out we will be moving back to Dallas over the summer. So, I took the HESI A2 without studying here and made a 100 on everything... But A&P! I cannot believe I made a 68 on that portion. I have a 3.05 science GPA with no retakes and a 3.4 overall. I have been a CNA for 5 years and have worked full time while also attending school full time. I hope this makes up some for my low GPA. Ok so my question... Should I make the 5 hour drive to Dallas and retake the HESI? And should I really even bother with trying to go to TCU? Or are there other schools in Dallas I should consider applying to... Ps, applied to TWU too.
Hi Blair14. You did an excellent job on the HESI overall, and I would say yes to a retake because A&P was a 68. No to driving 5 hours just to do it. With a 3.05 Science GPA, most community colleges will reject your application. TWU offers the TEAS V as their entrance exam and for sure I know grades are the first thing they look at. With your CNA experience, you should apply to El Centro's LVN Program because you get extra points for that. You may even be able to apply to El Centro's ADN Program as your HESI scores will also add points and help you out.Ok y'all, so I need a honest (not sugar coated) answer. Now ... TCU... though your Science GPA is low, I truly believe they consider the overall since you must include a resume with your application. With Math and Reading looked at the most, you have no issues there. It's $45 to apply and the cut off is Feb 1st. You won't have much time for a re-take.

I believe Mountain View College may still have some slots otherwise, it is back to TCU and I refuse to go back there and it's $50 and much cheaper at mountain view... I refuse!
I probably missed your stats... If you are above 80 in every section I would not stress because I have seen previous posts where students have gotten in with lower scores.
