Hello to all! I am new to this site and was seeing if anyone has been accepted into the program for 2013 to give me pointers or if I can get aquainted with new applicants in the same boat as I..........I would apprecaite it!!!!!!!!!!!:)

I went to the Financial Aid office today and I was told tuition is about $19000 a semester and roughly $70,000-$75,000 for total tuition not including books or anything else. I applied for two private loans but was denied and I do not have Nyone that can cosign for me...just curious what is everyone else doing to pay for tuition?[/quote']

Also which loans did you apply for? I know they have a couple on their website/financial aid area... I haven't tried them yet. They also talked about scholarship loans too... What did financial aid say about that?

Plus I'll probably have hubby cosign. I will just have to see how things play out.

I will more than likely try and make it down there, may be tough because I am supposed to go out of town the next day, but I hope I can!!

I am all for starting a Facebook page!! Let me know if you have already done so! :)

Is anyone looking at housing options yet? I have been doing a little searching and there seem to be some places near the school. I am not very familiar with the area so I have no idea what is a good place to live.

I'm also down for a FB group. I will be there for transfer day on the 7th, so I hope to see some of you there. Maybe we can all meet up and do food or something since we will all be spending a lot of time together in the coming year :p

I am not looking for housing because I live south of Ft. Worth about 25min from the school. But be careful looking near TCU for housing. The campus itself is not located in the best of areas. Though the campus is beautiful and the immediate surrounds are nice.

I talked to Financial Aid yesterday and she told me that they are working on FA packages right now. Also that the school will notify you if you receive any scholarships and those will come from the Admissions office. I did my fafsa a few weeks back and I also applied to Sallie Mae. I put in for the full amount needed just in case. I used a cosigner just to help the chances of a lower interest rate. The lady in FA told me to wait atleat up until midmarch to see what our packages are.

Also wanted to put out there that fastweb.com has ALL KINDS of scholarships you can apply for. I have already applied to a few! Just FYI.

I just did my FAFSA the other day so I guess I will have to wait to here back on that. I am prior military so I have some GI bill benefits, which is really saving me. I wouldn't have been able to go to school without it. I wanted to ask you guys... Has anyone has gotten their CPR certification yet? I was thinking maybe would could get a group of us together to go and take a class? Let me know who needs it and we can figure it out!

Hi there- I will also be part of the class in May. I live in Fairmount about 10 min from school and love it. It depends what you're looking for though (house, apartment, etc.) and what your budget it- if you want to FB message me, my name is Erica Javes Eggebrecht.

Looking forward to meeting you all!

Also, @sharcourt, are we required to havea CPR class?

And @anixon, who did you talk to to "reserve" your seat? I can't seem to get into my tcu (maybe because I am a former student)

Hi! I will also be joining you all in May:) is there a Facebook group??

Erica - I sent you a message and friend request on FB. It is required that we all have the healthcare professionals' CPR certification for class. Also, if you can't get to your page on TCU then just call the office and pay over the phone. That's what I did to reserve my seat.

Once one of us is friends with another on FB, I can create a page for our class and then y'all can join by searching for it.

I spoke to the scheduling head of the program the other day and she gave me a little insight I hadn't gotten previously. We start with a 3 week nursing basics course that is like M-F, 9a-3p. Maymester ends May 30 and we start the 10 week summer semester on June 2. I think we will register for our classes on orientation day; at least that is what my VA rep told me. Otherwise, if you are looking for some information before then, you can always check out the student handbook on the TCU site. Hope some of this helps and we can get that FB page started soon.

Look forward to meeting everyone :)
