Hey! I applied in November for the May 2010 TCU ABT program...Is there anyone else out there? Does anyone have a clue when we'll find anything out?

I graduated from Baylor in 2006 and majored in Spanish and Communication. I just finished up my pre-requesites in December (A&P II, Micro, and Nutrition) and before that I took A&P I, Stats, and Psych I and II. I have a niece with brain cancer and helping out with her treatment helped me to realize that I wanted to be a nurse. I was really nervous about the Science courses because I had not taken any of them at Baylor, but I pulled off all A's so I was super excited! I did well on the A2 and my grades are good, but I am still soooo nervous. I really want to be part of this program. Hopefully we will be hearing soon!
I have really good scores/grades, too, but I'm also still nervous. I just hope I have what they're looking for! I think it's just that there's not a lot of info out there on the program, so it's kind of an unknown. It sounds like you're extremely competitive! I'm sorry to hear about your niece, I hope she gets well...
Ive talked to people who went through the program and they said you dedicate about 65 hours per week to class/clinicals/studying. Good luck to those of you who know what you're getting yourself into!!
I'm well aware of the work required, but it's well worth it for me to graduate that quickly and get started...
Good luck to everyone who applied! I am also awaiting notification for May 2010. I contacted the office regarding my app file and also inquired about when the decision letters would be mailed. They said decision letters will go out February 12th. Hope this info helps! Just 4 days away!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Maybe we'll get them before Valentine's Day and my husband won't have to keep consoling me...or maybe if I don't get in it'll be better to find out after!

Did you get a letter in the mail or an email?
In the mail...It's a small letter so don't think the size means anything :)
I got in too! My letter just came today in the mail!!!!

Hello. I made it into the program as well. Congrats to eveyrone! If you're like me then you were anxious to know either way.
I have some concerns about how to pay for all this though. :) Has anyone started that process? They basically keep telling me to just hold on for the award package, then I know I'll have to figure everything out very quickly.
I'm going to begin looking for good private funding (loans), and would be willing to share information with others.
Congrats! I just got my award package last Friday...it's on the my.tcu.edu site. If yours is anything like mine, the loans they give you should definitely cover it...It sucks that because we're second degree students we don't qualify for grants, though.

Congrats to those of you in the TCU program. I am applying for the next cohort, Summer 2011. How do you all like the program? I live in California and would LOVE to attend TCU. I hear they have a wonderful nursing program. Also, the staff has been so friendly to me and very helpful.
I know you are all super busy, but I would love to hear your thoughts, and any advice that you have for myself and other hopeful students!
Good luck in the rest of your studies!
I am currently in the Accelerated program at TCU and it us definitely fast and furious. We have all come so far since starting in May, but I won't lie to you...it is a lot of work. I personally think it is totally worth it to be finished so quickly and I have met some really awesome people at TCU. If I had it all to do over again, I would still attend this program for sure. Good luck to everyone applying and I would be glad to answer any questions for you.
I really love the program, but it is a roller coaster ride that never stops! It's extremely fast paced, but I wouldn't do it any other way at this point because the pay off is worth it. However, just be prepared to be flexible! If you're a person that needs a specific schedule and can't adapt to things being thrown at you at the last minute, this program probably isn't a great fit.
