TCC / Weatherford College Applicants

Published

Hey All!

Is anyone applying to TCC or Weatherford College for Spring 2010 entry? I am applying to both and just wanted to see if anyone else was doing the same.:wink2:

Has anybody taken the TEAS yet? im taking it sometime in mid or towards the end of august, I already filled out the app packet just to save time lol.

If I can add one comment about the TEAS test. If you are applying to both Weatherford and TCC I would take the TEAS test at Weatherford. There they do not have a cut off on the number of times you can take it, were at TCC you can only take it 2 times and if you do take it over the second score no matter if it is better or worse is the one they look at. At Weatherford you can use the best score of your test taking attempts. I took it 3 time and did best on the 2nd time and was able to pass that onto TCC.

THANK YOU SOOO MUCH! Is Weatherford near Fort Worth? Is the math section really difficult on the TEAS test?

I am fairly good and math and did not find it all the difficult. I was able to finish all of the math problems with a few minutes to spare each time. The science was the worst area for me only because of the last of questions from Chem, A&P, and Micro. I got tons of earth science questions and it has been some years since I learned that stuff. The TEAS test is not as bad as it seems. I got the review book and used that to study plus this site http://www.testprepreview.com/teas_practice.htm

and I did well enough to get into TCC my first real time applying.

I am too, I do pretty good in all sections except percentages and some fraction problems. Do they calculate the science portion into the point system at TCC?

@ Foralltherightreasons... You should be good, for Weatherford! I am also taking A&P I and Micro in the fall @ TCC. Who are your teachers? we may be in the same classes.

Were in the same boat, a 4.0; pending A&P and Micro.. lol.... We shall survive! :0)

THANK YOU for this bit of info. I've took the TEAS about a year ago at TCC. I did alright, but want to take it again since my science & math score wasnt all that great. TCC had me scared to death to take it a 2nd time since they tell you that you only have 2 chances and no matter which time you scored better, they take your last results. Talk about stress!!

So since I've already taken it once at TCC, I can retake it at WC, correct?

I know with TCC you can only take the TEAS during certain months and at certain times - how does WC work? Do I need to call and pick a day & time slot?

I'm at the NW campus, will be taking Garner for A & P, Johnson for Micro. They offered A & P II in the summer semester, so I'm hoping they offer it in the winter mini-mester at either TCC or WCC. Otherwise, I'll be doing it online.

This is what I found, via the information I received from WC. I hope this helps...

The TEAS entrance exam is given in the Testing Center at Weatherford College, located upstairs of Student Services. The cost of the exam is $35.00, which is paid in the Weatherford College Business Office. The Business Office will accept cash or money orders only and payment is non-refundable. Please contact the Testing Center at 817-594-5471, ext. 488 to schedule an appointment for your test. You will need to present the receipt from the business office to the personnel in the Testing Center. The exam takes approximately four hours and is computerized. You are allowed to take the test twice within a six-month period. Once you have completed the test, print the results. You may wish to print two copies in order to keep a copy for your records and to have a copy to turn in with your application to the nursing program. Examples of content tested on the exam are available in the Success Connection. The TEAS Study Manual is available for purchase in the Weatherford College Bookstore.

@foralltherightreasons..... I called TCC and that class is not offered doing the Wintermester. HE told me they only offer Basics, English, Gove, Economics, Math, History... etc.

If DCCCD is convienant for you try them, they may have a Flex class for A&P II starting in Oct./Nov.

I am looking for kinds of way to do A&PII before Jan. 2010... lol...
