UTA AP Spring 2015 Applicants AWAITING ACCEPTANCE
Hello All, I wanted to start a topic for all UTA (University of Texas at Arlington) Academic Partnership Spring 2015 applicants. I submitted my application prior to June 1, 2014 deadline date. I am very excited and ready to get started. I applied and was not accepted for the Fall 2014;due to finishing up my pre-reqs. I hope this site will be a great place to post our acceptance news and more regarding the UTA AP BSN program. If you have any stories to share regarding; GPA news, what do you know that worked in the past, partnered students and their GPA's... etc. Any information you can share, that will help relieve the panic and calm my nerves until we receive news from the school. Thanks again fellow students. I appreciate any information you are able to provide. FINGERS CROSSED!!! My eyes are crossed as well.....

thr nursing program
I just started THR 09/13/10, and I have already spoke with a Career Counselor. You don't need to be with the company for 1 year to start or a PCT for 1 year. They really need people to start the program. UTA have flexible starting dates to complete your Pre-reqs. online. I plan to start with the ADN program next June with El Centro. I have all my pre-reqs for Brookhaven, but I dont have the pre-reqs for El Centro, lacking one... hoping I can get a flex course completed before Jan. 2011. I have the current packet from the Career Dept. for El Centro and UTA BSN Accelerated program. They have courses you can complete online in little as 5 weeks (exp. MATH-Alegbra). check it out, they also have information on our employee website. They pay for the BSN program, you must commit to a 2yr. contract. A Win-Win situation, if you ask me. Good Luck with your future endeavors and let me know if you have additional questions.

Dallas Nursing Ins.
Hello Everyone, I wanted to know if anyone have some recent reviews to offer for DNI in Dallas, TX. I am recently unemployed, and I currently take most of my classes at TCC. I want to take advantage of all this free time and actually get started ASAP towards my core classes. I am interested in DNI. I wanted to know if you have to have the prereqs completed before applying to DNI? Also, how is the financial aid and staff. I need as much information, as one can provide. I would really appreciate it. I need to complete A&P I, II, Micro, and Pharmacology. I have all the other classes completed. Would these classes transfer over to a Univ.? Can I take the classes I am lacking at DNI? I am currently enrolled at TCC for A&PI, II, and Pharm.(Spring 2010), but I am ready to get going and done possibly by 2011. I would have to wait until 2011 to start a nursing program, with a community college. Once I complete my lacking pre reqs. I understand and expect things to be hard in the nursing program, most are. Most importantly, I am a really focused single parent of 2 girls:yeah:; things need to happen fast Again, I really appreciate any information you can provide about DNI:smokin:. Thank you.

Oh Okay..... What support courses are you missing? Brookhaven support courses are a&PII, Micro(which you will have done by then), Nursing pathophysiology(TCC have an open class now), Pharmacology, Dosage Calculations for Nursing, End of Life Issues, Developmental Psy, Humanities, and Fine Arts..... Which classes are you missing? Brookhaven program is a bit different than El Centro.

HE told me they only offer Basics, English, Gove, Economics, Math, History... etc. If DCCCD is convienant for you try them, they may have a Flex class for A&P II starting in Oct./Nov. I am looking for kinds of way to do A&PII before Jan. 2010... lol...

This is what I found, via the information I received from WC. I hope this helps... TEAS Entrance Exam The TEAS entrance exam is given in the Testing Center at Weatherford College, located upstairs of Student Services. The cost of the exam is $35.00, which is paid in the Weatherford College Business Office. The Business Office will accept cash or money orders only and payment is non-refundable. Please contact the Testing Center at 817-594-5471, ext. 488 to schedule an appointment for your test. You will need to present the receipt from the business office to the personnel in the Testing Center. The exam takes approximately four hours and is computerized. You are allowed to take the test twice within a six-month period. Once you have completed the test, print the results. You may wish to print two copies in order to keep a copy for your records and to have a copy to turn in with your application to the nursing program. Examples of content tested on the exam are available in the Success Connection. The TEAS Study Manual is available for purchase in the Weatherford College Bookstore.

Courses in progress do not count. This is what I found on the site: Is there an entrance test? Yes, the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS). It consists of four content areas: math, reading, English, and science. Applicants must complete the entrance examination, attend an information session and submit all required documentation in the application packet before the application deadline. Any course work in progress will not be considered. A grade of at least a "C" is required for all courses.

good morning foralltherightreason, actually at tcc you do not need to have pe done to apply, if you have everything else, you can still apply for tcc. per the website: general education course requirements all general education courses, except for the humanities/fine arts elective, pe course (phed 1164) and the speech course (spch 1311, spch 1315, spch 1321) must be completed before applying to the program. refer to the [color=#0b62bf]catalog to see the nursing degree plan and a list of all the required general education courses. in addition: *notes: all of the above *courses must be completed at the time of application. phed 1164, speech 1311 or 1315 or 1321; and humanities/fine arts elective must be completed before you complete the program. 1. all biology courses must have been completed within the last five (5) years. 2. select from tcc core curriculum list found in tcc catalog 3. math competency may be met by completion of math 0350; a college level mathematics course, or by an accuplacer placement test score equal to college algebra. it looks like you may be good to apply for both schools. for weatherford, you need to have all the pre-reqs. i called and talked to the nursing dept. i believe it was karen, and she told me if i was currently taking a&pii, i can still apply, but the grade would be counted as a "c", which all my other grades are a's, so that would still give me a 3.5 gpa, and she said that was competitive.

Hi Stacygirl... I wasnt accepted to either. I plan on applying to both in Jan. 2010. I wont have A&PII done until May 2010, which would knock me out for TCC, but I am applying anyway.... Hopefully I can attend another college and get that class done, in time to apply for TCC. Fingers are crossed!
