TCC Spring 2016 Applicants

Published

I hope it's not too early to start a thread for those who are planning to apply to TCC this summer for Spring 2016. I will be applying with one A and two B's. I'm getting ready for my HESI test and I hope to get a good score. For those who have applied before, has anyone ever been accepted with one A.? I'm hopeful and also nervous. So let's get the ball rolling, and help encourage each other.

I have a 95.5 entry score with three A's and a 91hesi?? Also, is it correct that most get in with a 90plus?

rachelgraz, your scores are pretty outstanding. I read a post earlier and it said that 3 A's and >90% on Hesi is direct acceptance. Kudos

I am very worried about my chances of getting in!! I have a 3.0 gpa and I am retaking my HESI Aug 28 and I am hoping for a score around a 95. I currently have an 88.5 from last year when I took it. I can not retake my C in A&P2 cause i took it 2 years ago and it was my second attempt. I was going through a messy divorce and custody battle so I did not put as much focus on it as I should have. :(

Hopefully by some miracle a 95 on the HESI and 3.0 gpa will be good enough to get in!!!!

I know exactly what you are dealing with... When I took my A@P I and II, microbiology I was going through divorce, had to sell the house, buy new one and so on and so on.... So I ended up with B' on all subjects.. (It was 2-3 points less in 500 to get an A's :( ) I got 91 in HESI, will take another one on 28th.. but I am not worried - God know when I have to be there :) But I wish you all the best......

When did you take the Hesi the last time Verbinna11? I wish you all the best as well!! If it doesn't happen this time then I know God has other plans for me.

Hello everyone!:)

My name is Jessica. I will also be applying for the nursing program for the coming up spring. I've been reading all of yalls comments and yalls scores sound awesome! Good luck to everyone! I'm not very happy with my scores personally, but I am keeping the faith strong! Does anybody know if they are strict on the dates that we should have gotten vaccinations? I've read in a couple places that they should have been started before August 1st so i'm freaking out now because i'm barely getting mine today. I waited forever because i know i already have them but i lost my shot records so i was trying to get them but ended up not being able to so now i have to get all of them again :( Someone please tell me it'll be fine??!

You can get the blood titers done and it only takes a couple of days to receive the results. That is what I did with mine just in case my shot record from my pediatrician did not come in time.

You absolutely have to have the hep series started before August first. This is so that you can get your last shot before clinicals start. All the other ones you can get done pretty much whenever though. Good luck :)

My doctors office does not have the flu shot yet. Is this something that has to be done before applying or can I get it in September/October when it is available?

Nope you don't need the flu shot. It's not even on the list that she actually checks off on. As long as it's don't before school starts you're fine.

Ok it is on the immunization form so I was just curious.

Hello,

First, good luck to each of you on your journey to nursing school!!!! Currently, I am finishing up with my last class this week and applying with a 4.0 science GPA. I am retaking my HESI on Monday because I am not happy with my current grade. From everything I have read, you do not need to have your shots completed till the beginning of the nursing program. I will have all mine complete by that time if accepted. Am I correct in stating this? Also, for those of you that are still studying for the HESI, I recommend using "HESI A2 Secrets Study Guide" by Mometrix Media LLC. It goes a lot deeper into the content administered on the test than any other resource that I have seen. Really focus in on the reading comprehension. It's tricky!!!
