TB Testing Issues

So last week I went to get a TB test and the nurse did it for me in my right arm and everything was fine, when I got home there was no bump just a small red patch of skin. Went to see the nurse two days after and she did the reading and everything was fine.

Fast forward a few days later, I just went in to get my second TB shot in my left arm this morning (7-8 hours ago) and there's a red bump the size of a penny....... and it did not go down in an hour or two like the last one..

So my question is does the bump usually go down after 48-72 hours? Or....... could I potentially have TB? And if I potentially have TB that sort of doesn't make sense since the nurse tested my right arm and everything was fine... but my left arm though..

It's 48-72 hours, but you need to follow up with your doctor, not allnurses.

Why did you have to get a second TB test done the following week?;

Most pre employment physicals require that now. At least, in NY it does. Maybe for OP as well?

Sorry, I just starting my nursing program and I'm not too informed about the TB shot/reading protocol.

You need to follow up with your doc for your results, we can't possibly interpret what will "usually" happen, or whether you have TB.

Also, you can look this up since you're online, and learn about it.

Good luck.
