What do you think about Nurses with tattoos?
Do you have tattoos?
Should tattoos be shown during work as a Nurse?
There is no right or wrong answers. Thank you.
When I say "you" I mean nurses in general, not you specifically. It is not a personal comment but I can certainly see how you could interpret it that way. Just trying to make it understandable to the audience at hand. It seems to be that short, choppy sentences with no depth of meaning is the order of the day. It can be really difficult to word it for the lowest common denominator among the readers -- again, not you per se. But there may be people for whom English is not their first language and they would have difficulty with complexity. Not you, of course. Just saying, in general. It is really not all about you, after all.
You are chiding yourself. ^
It's very difficult to have a meaningful dialogue with someone when you do not know to whom (or to what) the person is speaking/responding. That is why we ask for people to use the quote button if they're responding to specific words/posts. It's not meant to be a put-down; it's meant to help people foster meaningful conversations in this imperfect medium. If you want to add to your post or change it, you don't hit the quote button; you hit the "edit" button. As a new poster, however, you are only able to edit your posts for a limited amount of time. So if you don't see the "edit" button it means that you can no longer do so. I'm telling you these things not to pick a fight or be disagreeable, but actually to HELP you navigate these forums.
I'm not at work right now. Are YOU noticing your patients or too busy on the computer?
Thanks klone for your computer skills lesson. Now I don't have to take a course and pay money for it. Klone, you are a total gem. Thanks again.

I have 7! One or two may be seen depending on the length of my shirt. I always get compliments on mine. 😠If they are not saying anything offensive, I don't have a problem with them. 😀
Excellent analogy.I have two tattoos myself. AND I'm a southern closer-to-center-than-far-right conservative. Mine are not visible normally. Even in a bathing suit, only one is. They have special meaning to me.
I did want a scrolly filigree type on my lower back...until I heard that called a tramp stamp. No thank you.
I'm debating on putting that one on my ankle instead and then getting a TARDIS or my name in Gallifreyan and a Berimbau somewhere else.
But meh.

I've never had the desire for a tattoo although I don't mind them on others and sometimes they are downright hot
I DO fight with myself almost weekly resisting a facial piercing. Either a tiny chip nose ring or a small eyebrow hoop, or both.
But then I think, nah.
That reminded me...my first role at my current employment was for a charge position on a surgical floor. I have a large pore above my right eyebrow that I cannot get rid of. The interviewing manager asked me if it was a piercing. I was embarrassed but straight-forward: "No, ma'am, it's an enlarged pore. What do you recommend for it?" I don't think she was offended by it, more curious, but it was certainly an odd question. That organization does prefer no facial piercings. Employees use clever ways to keep them less obvious.BTW, Far, the chip nose piercing isn't what makes you hot. How you carry yourself and who you are, yeah... hnnnnng. :)
HotTER?
I just like the way it looks. And I like piercings. And I like my nose.
You should see the tats and piercings the teachers have. It would be no problem in my SN job.

The problem with a nose piercing is if you aren't wearing a stud and you have to sneeze. You tend to shoot snot out of the hole. And a friend once told me that it always feels like you have a booger right there.
Yes I have complimented nurses on their body art too. I am not one to get bent out of shape or judgmental about this. What matters to me is the skill set and nursing care they provide. Tattoos are a personal expression not a nursing performance issue. I get the feeling many posters on this site controlling managers who like to lord it over their staff as very few seem really concerned about patient care issues. I am referring to those who are judgmental and would not hire nurses with tattoos, etc.

A Tardis would be great. Another Whovian. How refreshing.

How many people in this thread actually said that, though?

You really have made "abstract statements". This is true.
