I am starting this for anyone who is applying for the TCC RN program in August.

Specializes in Progressive Care Unit (ICU step-down).

And I can buy the skills kit at the TR bookstore? I'll try and pick that up tomorrow. And thanks Rossy, I have printed the parking pass out.

one more question for now... Is anyone taking their CPR through TCC NW? I had a class there over the summer and I remember seeing advertisements for a CPR class there. I just thought that $50 was pretty expensive and was wondering if anyone else was doing theirs for cheaper?

@ Ruth, you must live close to me. I'm behind the highlands in Arlington.

@ Kmart - it is at trinity river and I was looking at the map and I think it is right above the testing center. Don't forget to pay for your skills kit and bring the receipt with you.

@ student 213,i may live close to you coz i live in arbrook and matlock the apartments right there...highlands is pretty close... hope that will be awesome..

I believe that the skill kit is not for sale at the bookstore. That's why you need to pay for it at business services and bring the receipt. I took my CPR classes for free because I volunteer at the hospital where I took it. It is 50$ everywhere else if it is through the American Heart Association. TCC will not accept it from somewhere else and it has to be for health care providers!

kmart- I asked about the CPR at another campus also but was told if I take it from TR for $50 it lasts for the entire program length, but the if we take it at the other campuses we would to renew it half way through the program.

Regardless of where the classes are being offered it's still have to be from the AHA, right? So shouldn't all the certifications have a standard timeframe... Kmart, I think you should call both TCC and AHA 877-AHA-4CPR or http://www.heart.org/cpr that way you can compare and see if one last longer than the other. That will save you some money.

actually you should look in to that, but i know some CPR certs. are good for a year, some are good for 2 years. I guess it really depends on where you get it done. But from what I have seen, the 2 year certifications are atleast $50 +

I did some hunting on the AMA website and found most classes were in the $70-$100 range....Not sure what's different about those. Decided to stop worrying about it and got registered for the Jan. 13 class with the TNSA. So I'll see a bunch of you guys there! Just did that yesterday, so there must be some more spots open. I was surprised.

Welcome Ruth!

thanx jefelebron..:)

@ Ruth - you live about a mile from me. I know the apartments. I live in the neighborhood behind Workman.

My CPR class is scheduled for the same day as Students, but i found a training center in Keller that has evening and weekend classes. Same price, I might take advantage of those classes instead so it doesn't interfere with my weekday schedule.. hmm

Hey all... I will see you all at the coffee shop the morning of Orientation... Cross...can't wait to see you again... And Can't wait to meet everyone else.. So looking forward to it!!!!
