I am starting this for anyone who is applying for the TCC RN program in August.
dont get me started about the exam, it was H A R D. some people who aced the first exam completely failed this exam. The questions were ridiculous, and i know why, because my theory professor wrote this test and if you were in her lectures, you would def. see why lol. I was seriously like "what the F is a "nuscle" thought i got the question right, ugh...it seriously needed a spell check.
Um, someone ACED the first exam?! I thought I did before I hit "submit" LOL but was happy with my 88 on that one considering I studied for all of an hour. This time I spent about 15min going over the pertinent info and made it out with an 86. It's not my usual A average but hell, from all the horror stories we've heard I'm rather content with it! LOL And then we had to hear the Pedi/OB class tell us how bad it was :-( That's my speciality so I hope it's not awful!
yea, we had quite a few 90's and up. ive heard Pedi's/OB is really tough too, they said it changes alot as far as the information and structure of it. i dont even have a specialty... everyone is like yeah im going in to cardio, trauma, ER, whatever, and im like i dont know what the hell im doing. During my whole "pre-med" phase i was dead set on disease processes, and etiology, bacteria. But in nursing we cant really get in to that unless we stick to one genre, but for the oddest reason, i have a hunch i will be pulled into psych. yay....
Well personally pedi/OB has always been my passion, more OB than pedi, but I've always wanted to do trauma as well (there's time to do both in life, right?! LOL) So I really enjoyed the CareFlite thing today. That was my dream job when I first started nursing school forever ago but I doubt with my shunt I'll ever be able to do it. :-(
