So I think we are well into the application period so, surely it is time to start up this board. I can not wait until we hear back in May. Trying to keep very busy while waiting. Good luck to everyone applying!! Hopefully we can keep each other company here and celebrate our successes!!

Does anyone know if the picture id we are supposed to get just for the nursing students, or is it a regular TCC student id?

You purchase your student nurse badge from the bookstore and wear it with your school id

Oh ok! Thanks!!

Does anyone know when we'll be tested on Dimensional Analysis? Math is my weakest subject and I would like to get in more practice/studying before we actually take tests. Also, are there any workshops that are offered to help students in this area?

From what I've read we will go over it at orientation and then continue to go over it in class until we have it down. I also read there is a book you can get to help you with it called clinical calculations made easy. Hope that helps! =)

Thanks Elizabeth!

Quick question??... I signed up for the CPR class that TCC offered towards the end of August, I believe I have Aug 24th or something like that... Because I am not going to have my CPR certification until then, I'm wondering what to since one of the documents needed at orientation is the CPR certification... Do you think we just need a receipt showing we paid for the class already and maybe the date we signed up for it on??

One more question?? Regarding orientation.. Im still confused about the photo.. Do we need to just bring our nurse badge (the one bought from the bookstore) or just a regular 3x5 photo of ourselves. Im wondering cause it says to bring a recent photo, no larger than a 3x5, and write your name on the back to orientation.

I'm pretty sure you bring a 3x5 photo with your name on it. There are also past posters that said that we should also bring copies of all the documents that they wanted just to be sure that they have them for our file, so that may also be a good thing to do as well.

Ok Cool, thanks Hill!

As far as the CPR cert goes, we wont be able to register till all of our things on the list are complete. I have my CPR on the 21st, so after I take the course I take the paperwork to the nursing dept then. A lot of people are doing CPR that week so we wont have anything to turn in yet on the 3rd. But since our schedules are already picked for us, there is no fighting over classes… They will email you when you are ok to register. That is the only issue with waiting 3 more weeks to do CPR classes.

Ok, thanks JustJackie! That makes sense. I cant wait til Friday!! I just finished my summer class today so im running a lil' behind on getting my paperwork together..
