So I think we are well into the application period so, surely it is time to start up this board. I can not wait until we hear back in May. Trying to keep very busy while waiting. Good luck to everyone applying!! Hopefully we can keep each other company here and celebrate our successes!!

Nope kate0226, I'm super excited that it's over also! lol... I'm sooo ready to find out! :) Maybe it'll be this week?? I sure hope so!

Ok at least I know I'm not some kind of weirdo, I was thinking the same thing about spring break!! I have become obsessed with checking my campus cruiser email! I'm trying not to think about it, but it's not working!

Hi, I'm applying for the program next semester and I'm so nervous! I'm almost done with my basics and so far I have an A in all of my classes. Any advice on A&P 1 & 2 over the summer online?

Hi! I have taken classes online, a LOT actually, but never any sciences online. Many of my professors told us never to take any sciences during the summer or online, but I have talked to a lot of people that decided to do it and they made it through! I took micro as a regular class in the summer, 5 hrs a day Monday- Thursday, it was though just because of the amount of material coming at me all at once (he said we were given all of the material a regular semester is given, in 5 weeks)... A&P is tough enough, let alone taking it online, over the summer and both classes back to back... the only thing I would say is make sure you have plenty of time to study, and don't let yourself get behind, because it is very easy to get behind in an online class. Especially a class where you won't have typical "homework" to keep you focused. Since you said you have a A in all your other basics, you seem very dedicated, so I'm sure you are more than capable! Good luck!! :)

Like vc1478 said if you have LOTS of study time and are dedicated you can do it!! Just know ahead of time that A&P has tons of material so be ready to do nothing except study! I know people who have taken those classes in summer and come out with an A so I know you can do it!! Something that has always helped me in my science classes was to come up with some way to connect and memorize things. Sometimes they might seem ridiculous but they work! For example when learning the bones I remember the capitulum was on the outer side of the humerus by thinking guys wear their "caps out" to the side of their heads. and there are acronyms for things like the cranial nerves, just google them. Good Luck!!

There is a lot of material in A&P. I did chemistry and microbiology online but chose to do A&P on campus. I do think you could do it but, I would start reading the material now. Maybe you should even contact the instructor of the online class. I did that often and would actually get started before the class would begin. Most instructors were awesome about working with me. Good luck!

Why is this wait killing me now? I've been fine for the last 6 weeks but, now that the end of March is nearing I am jut dying to know. I'm thinking about calling the counselor and just asking if the emails will be coming soon. Has anyone called them?

I haven't. Does anyone know if they will email, mail a letter or call us? I am with you the wait is killing me.

The wait is horrible!!! It feels like its been way longer than it has... When I turned in my app the counselor said she didn't know if they would email or mail. I just figured that since they emailed last semester they would let us know that way again this time, but who knows. I haven't called either but I was thinking about it. If anyone does will you let us know what they say, so we don't all call and bug them? Lol :)

I thought it was email too, but don't know for sure. Would we call nursing or counseling?

I never took AP online- or in the summer. Took Micro online and it was not bad. However, I was not in a rush to finish them because I was waiting for my middle child to start kindergarten before I applied (she starts in the fall). AP 1&2 were very in depth, much more than micro or chemistry, in my opinion. I had a wonderful professor for AP1 at NE campus. She is young and very enthusiastic and helpful. I never missed a class.. IDK if we can share professor's names on here?? My AP 2 prof was the complete opposite & I basically self learned in her class but was able to get an A in that one too. I still loved both classes & they reinforced my desire to enter nursing. You sound like you could definitely handle them having all A's, and that your goal is to apply with A's in all your sciences.. Just be prepared! Start reading the book early, and don't get behind. Visit the SLC at NE campus to study for lab - lab is quite difficult at NE. Probably be best if you weren't working, in my opinion, but I know that's not always an option. I wish you the best of luck!!

Oh....the waiting is bad! I have not called either. My hubby was trying to get me to yesterday but I told him I doubted they would give me a firm answer...lol

I have felt like a kid on Christmas eve for the past month! :)
