Tarrant County College Fall 2014 Nursing Program

Published

This topic was created for those who will be applying to Tarrant County College's Fall 2014 Nursing Program. The dialog is open for those who have never applied and those who have applied multiple times. Let's discuss our frustrations, stats, best practices for study and the HESI, where you are at achieving your goal, and if you plan to apply anywhere else.

I have applied and was turned down 3.50 Science, 90 HESI, 970 Critical thinking (for another nursing program). I was knocked down, but I refuse to stay there.

Let's talk!

It is very hard to retake classes. No teacher wants to use the same book, great teachers are hard to get sign up for, and let's not forget the money! When I applied the last time and was signing up for the hesi, I overheard a lady say she applied 4 times before she was accepted. That is a lot and the main reason why I applied to more than one school. It wears you out but the only thing that keeps me going it that I have a passion for it. I think everyone on here would be great at it and be a great group to work with!

I have a feeling last semester all the 4.0gpa and high hesi score have applied, so all the left over that didn't get in from maybe 2 semester ago reapplying. And some

from 2 semester retook there class. But yeah look like u have a strong chance if U have 3.5 and 90 hesi score going in

Yes! It gets very expensive! I am currently retaking Anatomy 2, and it's a completly different book than when I previously took the class. Not to mention that I've taken the HESI 4 times, trying to get a better grade. It is very frustrating. We all have been through so much to get into this program. I totally "hear" :) you Nursinghopeful817, I really wanna be a Lactaion Consultant. I hear people all the time complain because they didn't have good breastfeeding support. All the Consultants that I talk to say I need to be a Nurse first. I love this forum because we can support each other and understand what the other is going through! I love you guys already!! lol Of course, after my ADN, I want to get my Bachelor's. Get my Lactation Certification, and eventually get my Masters in Human Lactation, and maybe even be a NP, idk, still deciding. If not a NP then maybe a PA. Does anyone else have any post-ADN goals?

Yes my dream is to go tcc nursing and future goal is to become a crna or a NP.I was struggling so much when I was a kid growing up, never liked school. But once I steped into college my whole demeanor changed I want to thanks god everyday and pray to him also. I don't know who you guys believe in but I just want to say god have change my life for the best and the worst! I always BELIEVE in him since then. Btw what is a lactation?

I truly believe that the Lord my not give me everything I want but I always tend to have what I need in His time. My goal if I get into TCC or El cento is bridge to UTA and then go on to NP. I am really into Womens health because we sometimes forget about protecting ourselves health wise. I am likely the oldest on here that I have to keep my choices to what I have the energy to do...lol.

I know it long shot from now but do y'all want to meet up to form a group to study with or help each other out thru nursing school? When we get our acceptance letter just ansuggestion. ion

I am good with it if I get in!

A Lactation Consultant offers breastfeeding support. Yes! I am a firm believer in God, I thank him daily for the things I have and don't have. Without him, I wouldn't be here.

Oh! Yes! I am always down for a study group.

They told me 88 hesi and yes she is the main one and the one I spoke to

I too have a passion to be a lactation consultant or CNM. Ill see if it holds up when I actually get out there!

Wouldn't that be awesome if we all got in ;) .
