i have 3.6 science gpa and 80 on the hesi,,iam applying TCC for the fast track summer .do you guys think I have any changes of getting admission?also do they consider individual scores all just the total hesi score

Im not sure how they do it but I know they write the individual scores down when you turn your application in. I don't know how the fast track option works.

@2013baby, have you spoken with the nursing program advisor, Katherine? She would be the best person to answer your questions. I'm not familiar with the fast track program but your GPA seems very solid. Your HESI is on the lower end for the non fast track but it may be different for the fast track program. I would shoot Katherine an email and see what she says. Worst case just retake the HESI :)

@jFever, I hope you're right. I know my GPA is good, it's just so stressful that you know absolutely nothing while you're waiting. My advisers have drilled it into my head that only perfect scores get it (which I know is untrue) but it's hard to be confident when you're hardwired to feel that way. I did read some of the spring forum because I was curious and it helped seeing what scores other people were accepted with. I hope we all make it in this time around! :)

@kylieneden, I hope so too. I've just had to accept the fact that I worked hard for my GPA and scores and although they aren't perfect, people have made it into the program before. And I think Katherine would be more open if it wasn't a possibility for us to make it in. I think a lot of professors and students say 4.0 and above 90 HESI because that is what is considered a guarantee to get in. I know we all would like this to be "it" but even if we don't make it this go round, improve and repeat. Persistence is bound to pay off :)

Agreed! Until we find out, we just have to try and be positive. My poor husband is ready for me to find out so I will stop talking about it all the time! haha.

Mine too! He knows better not to say anything but I can tell. We've come to the agreement that I can get my hamster wheel and talk about it while he plays xbox but he has to respond lol

Hopefully we only have to wait 3-ish more weeks to find out. I know it varies depending on the number of applicants, etc. I've been waiting almost two months and now that it's getting semi-close I have a hard time not thinking about it a million times a day. I will be checking my email obsessively when mid-April rolls around.

Last semester I made myself super anxious and broke out in hives. I've been on Weight Watchers since Jan and the company I work for is on a big - improving your health kick, so I've been trying to use that and working out as a positive distraction.

Ugh how awful! I generally keep myself pretty distracted. I usually only obsess on days when I have quite a bit of downtime (like today). I don't know anybody in person who is applying for fall at TCC right now so I haven't really had a chance to share my experiences/concerns with anybody until I came across this board. I've calculated my applicant score probably a thousand times just to be sure I've been doing it correctly. I think I'll feel a little better after the 31st because then I know everybody has applied and it's downhill from there.

When I have down time all I do Is think about my scores. The more I think about it the more I get down on myself cause I don't have perfect scores. I'm driving my husband crazy with all the talk but he is being supportive and dealing with it. Lol. I hope we find out mid April but I'm telling myself it won't be till the end so I don't get too anxious.
