Hi Jfever!!!
I am applying as well for the fall program. I am retaking the Hesi in March. Have you taken it yet with the new critical thinking portion?
I have not. Is that a new requirement? I was told it's just Math, Reading, Grammar and Vocab
That is what I thought and then on the website it says Hesi A2 with critical thinking and when I signed up for the test they said the nursing Depertment added that this semester.
I just pulled the paperwork from when I registered for the HESI and saw that on the bottom. What are you using to prepare for that section? The official study guide doesn't have that in there but I have come across some stuff online
Since the study guide didn't have it in there I was just going to google some stuff about it.
What at are your science gpas?
I have 3 B's and 1 A, so I need to score high on the HESI. I applied for Spring start and didn't make the cut with my science GPA and 88 HESI. I was on the forum for Spring 2016 and noticed other people with my same science GPA got an alternate spot with a 91 HESI so I'm not far off.
Ok I was on that forum too. When I applied last semester I had A B C and a 90.5 Hesi. This time I have 2 A's and 1 C that I can't get rid of I'm hoping for a much higher Hesi score to really help me this time
Awesome, I think we have the same GPA then! I emailed Katherine and she said to aim for a 95 % on the HESI and that will significantly improve our chances. I wonder how the critical thinking will be factored in.
My goal is a 95 on the Hesi as well. Reading brought my score down low cause I wasn't expecting to do difficult on that. I was wondering the same thing too. Are you using your shot record from last time too?
I am. I have to get my follow up to my Hep A (I forgot to get the booster). I might get another passport photo taken too. I didn't like mine from the fall
I just heard back from Katherine- the CT portion of the test will be used as a tie breaker in the event our scores match up with someone else
