Tarrant County College ADN Fall 2016

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi there! This topic is for students applying for TCCD Fall 2016 ADN program. I'm excited about getting the ball rolling!

Oh ok. That makes sense.

I'm a spring 2016 student now if anyone has questions. Random but your passport pic will become your nursing ID pic for class and in the hospital for clinicals.. I looked terrible in mine

I will be applying for the Fall 2016 program as well and wanted to join in the conversation. I hope more people join so we can get a nice discussion going.

I hope more people join in too. This thread is very quiet compared to past threads.

What at are you applying with texanbred?

Grade-wise? I have two A's and a B. I took my HESI back in August and made a 96. I'm still worried about getting accepted because this is all we've been working for and it's so stressful...

It's very stressful!!! I think with those grades you stand a good chance of getting in. What did you use to study for the hesi? I took it in August and got a 90.5 but I need at least a 95 and now there is the critical thinking portion

I took the HESI before the critical thinking part was added so I hope that doesn't affect my chances of getting accepted. I rented the HESI Admission Assessment Exam Review: Edition 3 and it helped tremendously! The questions were almost identical to what was on the HESI. I really studied the math section since I struggle with math, and I'm glad I did because that ended up being my highest grade.

I used that book as well and the math part was dead on with the HESI. I got a 98 on that part and vocab. My lowest grade was on the reading and English portion which I was shocked by.

My lowest grade on the HESI was reading as well. I made the mistake of working that section last only because I didn't realize how it was presented, and my brain was so tired by then. I made a 92 overall but I made a 66 on the conclusions portion. I emailed Katherine to see if I should take it again and she said the overall grade for that section is considered so I should be fine. Will you be applying next week?

I bombed the conclusion part too and reading was my lowest score and I wasn't prepared for it to be like that. I am retaking the HESI on March 24 so I will apply that day after my test. Are you applying next week?

Good luck on your HESI. You didn't do bad the first time so I'm positive you'll ace it this time! I plan on applying next week so if I need to provide anything additional, I'll have plenty of time to get it in. If I'm not accepted, I'm going to be kicking myself for not taking the HESI again.

Thank you!! I think with your score you have a very good chance on getting in so no need to worry there!!! It's a good idea to apply early just in case you still need anything. I turned my application in early one year (long time ago) and I felt like I wanted to know the results the following week and the wait killed me. lol. So I think this time waiting till almost the end of the application period will make the wait go faster.
