Tarrant County College ADN Fall 2016

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi there! This topic is for students applying for TCCD Fall 2016 ADN program. I'm excited about getting the ball rolling!

@niekh13- I have the same GPA as you. Here is my experience in a nutshell- I applied for spring 2016 with same

GPA and 89 HESI. From my understanding I think alternates started same GPA and a HESI at 90 or 91. I asked Katherine what she recommends HESI wise since I cannot retake anything till this summer and she said to try to aim to score around a 95. A few of my friends that graduated from the program within the last year got in with the same GPA as us and a 93 HESI. And one of my friends got in with the same GPA and a 90 HESI. So I think if we are applying with a 93 or higher we should be okay- provided that the applicant pool is the same as in years past. I hope your HESI went well. I know you can't share any questions but let us know how the critical thinking section was. I take my HESI in the morning. I'm ready to get the test out of the way and hand in my application.

I made a 91 on my Hesi.

So I have 2 B's an A and a 91 hesi score.

I turned my application in and Katherine said it looks good. @jFever the critical thinking part was not as bad as I thought. Its only 30 questions. And that score does not affect your overall score. It was printed on a seperate paper. I made a 910 out of 1000. But it os one of those all choices are correct you have to pick the best one. All "nursing" questions.

It gives you a list of patients and you basically decide which patient to go to first. Im sure you will do well. I hope we all get in!

I applied today but I didn't turn it into Katherine. Someone told me to go to another lady and the lady said that she takes applications too. I hope I didn't mess up. I applied today with 2 As and 1 C with a 95 hesi and a 910 critical thinking. I applied last semester with a 90.5 hesi and didn't get in. I hope that my 95 hesi score is enough to get in. Another girl applied right before me and she had a 3.3 GPA and a 84 hesi score.

The critical thinking portion was like all "nursing questions". You had to pick the best answer and there was more than one right answer so that got kind of hard. But it wasn't terrible.

How do you figure out your science gpa? I have 2 b's and an A. But how do I figure out the _._ gpa? I hope the 2 B's are good enough.

Have anyone applied anywhere else? I applied to Weatherford also but prefer TCC.

I applied with 3 A's and a 90 on the HESI. All anybody talks about is how competitive it is and how hard it is to get in so I'm super nervous.

A= 4

B= 3

C= 2

add them together and divide by 3 then you get your GPA.

So you would have a 3.33

Thank you so much!

Eeek! I'm nervous. I dropped off my application, 2-B's and 1- A w/ 92.5 HESI. I pray that that is enough to get me accepted. I'm so ready to start the program this coming Fall :)

you did good! Every one seems to be doing better rhan me. I hope I get in.

It's going to be a long wait till the end of April. Good luck to everyone.

I agree! I feel a little less anxious than when I applied with an 88.5 on the HESI but you're right @ERiding2016. On the upside next weekend is already the beginning of April and we find out toward the end :)
