I was wondering who all got accepted or is in the TAMUCC eline program this semester. It is nice to have someone to talk and ask questions about the program. I start Jan. 10th, YEAH.

HI. I'm not in E-line but I'm going to start the accelerated program at TAMUCC this summer. I was wondering what the job market is like in Corpus ( hospitals, pay etc.) I don't think one can't be too soon to start looking at these things that matter so much. Thanks!

do they set up your clinical's or do you have to find a preceptor.......

they have contracts established with certain hospitals and you can only do clinicals at those hospitals. unfortunately, there is only one hospital in the dfw area that has been willing to work with us and that is for the pediatrics rotation only. the closest clinical sites are college station and abilene for tamu-cc. i don't think del mar has a site anywhere except in the corpus area.

it really is a great program, i'll be graduating this year. it's just sad that there are not more hospitals willing to work with us.

I have been forever in this program. It was my only option since I needed to work full-time. I have been a slow pacer. I noticed some posts with interest. Here is the link.

How often do you go to the hospital for clinicals? I live 70 miles from College Station and would be willing to travel a couple of days a week to a hospital in College Station.

Hi, I finally got my acceptance letter to the eLine program for TAMUCC for Spring '09. I would love to talk to anyone else accepted or who has been through this process. I would really like to know how the first semester went; I'm a little apprehensive.

:lol2:

Congrats av1084!

I will be applying for Summer, do you if its pretty competitive to get accepted? I have to take Phy & Health Alterations this Spring. I would love to hear about your experience.

Take care!

From what I have heard some semesters they don't have enough people applying to turn anyone away, which works out nicely. :) If you have any questions feel free to ask once I find out myself, lol.

I graduated from their generic BSN program in May of 08 and immediately began the Masters FNP in the Summer of 08. The undergrad program is now accepting three times a year. They have a lot of open slots so if you have the criteria you can count yourself accepted. Don't let the ease of getting in allow you to think it is easy; it's not, but anyone who is determined can do this. The first semester is difficult because of the time management needed to adjust just like any other program. My suggestion to anyone attending is to stay involved in the learning process by reading, reading and more reading. It might not be a bad idea to get ahold of the SNA for tutoring or attend meetings if you are in the area.

If anyone is interested in the online Masters program they do not require a GRE and once again if you meet the minimum criteria you are most likely accepted. Good luck!

Thanks for the info tamuccnurse, I plan on doing their online masters program too. I hear its not an easy program, I never think online constitutes easy, because you have to be dedicated to keeping your studies up. Thanks again for your input, its awesome to hear from fellow TAMUCC students.

I love the program. I will be starting my third semester in January 09. I have found that the core classes have the same requirements for the most part, 25% is for discussion postings (two to three a week , 200 word with 5 year current primary resources), three papers worth 25% each (usually at least one is a group assignment which I recommend being the group leader so you don't end up with a lower grade just in case the group leader doesn't care about his or her GPA). FYI Dr. Stetina is a stiff grader but very helpful if you contact her and Dr. Rogers is a stickler on grammer and APA. You get what you put in to it. So far I have learned a lot.
