TAMUCC ELINE BSN SPRING 2020

Published

Hello Everyone!

It may be a little late but I haven't seen anyone start a forum for the Spring 2020 eline program and the deadline is right around the corner so I figured I would start one! Anyone else applying for the program? Any traditional or accelerated? Best of luck to you all!

I called the school and they said we should hear about decisions next week. How’s everyone doing in patho and pharm I’m dying

I sure hope its next week I cant focus on life lol. Path and pharm are brutal as hell. I'm currently surviving but we will see after test 2 in a week or so! Who do you have for your teachers? I have Dr. Addison for Path and Melissa Miller for pharm! I just keep telling myself that I have to pass no matter what and that if I get in to the program these are not going to be the only classes we learn this information.

?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️ I was told by my advisor mid to late October but that was before you heard this week! Hopefully Friday! ?

Reading the information that everybody is posting gets me thrilled for this program. I will eventually join the eline program at tamucc while working FT, with kids and wife trying to finish the last of her prerequisites before applying at tamucc nursing on campus. Sounds crazy but it’s the only way I will be able to do this. The only issue I’ve noticed for someone like myself getting into the eline program are the clinicals; it seems you just don’t know what day and time Clinicals will be and for someone working FT might make it difficult but can be done from what I have read. Not sure if anybody would know off the top of their head if the clinicals work around individuals who work FT?

They assign you to a hospital with a preceptor and you go to clinical on the preceptors schedule

That’s the issue I am running up against. Thanks for the reply.

I’ve got a friend in the program I think you only have to go 8 clinical days out of the semester but that’s after check offs. So you just pick the days you want to go from your preceptors work schedule

? hmm. That’s more of a relief. Would definitely need to save plenty of vacation and sick days to make this work.. lol. My work is pretty flexible which is a good thing, would just need to plan accordingly and prepare the calendar to stay extremely organized. Little at a time I will be completing my prerequisites for the program, already have a bach in business so that helps. Hoping to get a nursing degree before I am 37.

thank you for your response. ?

The online coursework is pretty grueling as I have learned. I find it hard to stay on top of it. I also work a full time job and have kids at home.
